   We were visiting from out of town and picked this restaurant because it was different and had a cool back story of being a service station and unique menu. We had a reservation and arrived early and although the restaurant was empty except for two tables it seemed to throw the 2 girls at the front desk. They took us to a small table in the middle of the room-made for 2 people. I didn’t make a fuss because I was with other people but I hate sitting in the middle of a room and especially at a table made for 2 instead of 4-plenty of booths on both sides as well as larger tables in the same row. Our server took a long time to come greet us and then again to come back and take our order. The food was excellent and definitely had a small twist to some of them that made them special. We all made small changes to our choices and the server repeated them all and the kitchen made all of the changes for us without any problems. The prices are comparable and the interior has a neat vibe! The noise was minimal.

   Poor seating choices, dirty tables left all around us. Neglected to tell us about very hot plates they delivered to the table and we burned our fingers. Overpriced drinks that weren’t even full to the top. Mediocre food.

   If you like, waiting an hour and a half for your food and a smoke filled room this is your place! Food was good, but I had to go home and wash the smoke out of all of my clothes. It seemed like they must’ve been having ventilation problems in the kitchen.

   We went to Sugarbacon for an impromptu dinner out. We made a reservation but it ended up not being very busy. We were greeted by, who we think was the owner and he thanked us for coming in. The decor was kind of industrial but pleasing to the eye and the music was equally pleasing. The menu had just enough choices to not be overwhelming. Our server was super friendly and checked in with us on regular intervals. For cocktails I had the Purple Haze which was basically a blueberry vodka martini and was brought to the table with a bubble on it and when it broke smoke (haze) billowed out. We had the Sugarbacon appetizer, and entrees were scallops with lemon & dill risotto, and surf & turf with prime rib, scallops and added lobster topping. We finished the night with white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. Everything was absolutely delicious. It was a little pricey but well worth the splurge. We will definitely be back.

   Our server was so sweet and made sure we were taken care of at every step of the evening! They took very good care of me and my wife for her birthday! This is by far one of our favorite spots in McKinney!

   Loved our first visit to Sugarbacon and it mostly definitely will not be our last! Food and service was outstanding!

   There were several issues with our visit. First, everything was very slow. It took a long time for each course to come and we were not ordering drinks or anything special. Our server was slow as well and only checked in a few times between the long breaks in food coming out. Second, two of our four orders came out wrong. We saw our server write everything down and assume the kitchen was to blame for this in addition to the slow times. The food quality was good and everything tasted fine. Unfortunately we were completely put off by the experience to actually enjoy the food.

    Service was great. Waitress was very nice, knowledgeable and attentive. Food was not the best and was super expensive.
