   Disappointing meal for a special occasion- Our “while you wait “ bread arrived after quite a wait.. just buttered the first bit when the waitress who’d literally just taken the bread to our table appeared with our main dishes. I looked surprised as she advised me “ I’ve been told to take these over “.. Plates cold, no steak knife for my partner and mine (sea trout ) was lukewarm, greasy, no flavour and generally just “ meh “. Bill requested and as the table was cleared the customary “was everything alright “ was asked , when I said No there was no further questions. Bill arrived, no apology, no offer to remove the bread platter from the bill. Overpriced and very underwhelming- very disappointing. Wouldn’t recommend.

   Great venue with beautiful views of the Black Isle. Service and ambience were excellent. Food was good - I loved the chicken pate starter - but the smoked haddock goujons were a little hard and salty. But due to the other factors I would still recommend.

   I ordered a medium steak but it arrived overdone and it was rather fatty. The waitress did offer to exchange it but it would’ve meant my husband & I eating separately which I didn’t want. The chips, onion rings & sauce were good though. They did take our drinks off the bill as a good will gesture.

   As we booked for an early lunch the restaurant was almost empty and it was ideal for us: no noise and very relaxing atmosphere. The view of the sea from the table was stunning. We chose from the lunch menu and ordered the smoked haddock which was delicious, the crumb coating was crispy and not at all greasy. And the price was very reasonable. We will certainly come back.

   A lovely place to eat and always good food. Although it took a bit of a long time to arrive. But that made it all the better when it came!

   One very good starter the other an overcooked tart served with cold diced potato, one very good main meal and one disappointingly tasteless Seabass with overcooked hot diced potatoes. Disappointing as they were not busy so no need to push out food not up to standard.
