It’s a taco shop, taco joint or taqueria. This laid-back, original style taqueria brings guests a diversity of flavors from Mexican streets and marketplaces where homemade “street-style” tacos originated. Now the opportunity to eat “real-deal” tacos in a casual, independent, not-your-standard-Mexican restaurant is available to all. At Taco Republic we use traditional Mexican meats like Barbacoa and Cochinita Pibil atop authentic tortillas and topped with the freshest ingredients. We create ethnic street food by slow cooking, smoking and braising meats to get the simplicity of freshness and exquisite flavor. Taco Republic establishes a new category of neighborhood taco shop in the Midwest, producing casual comfort and extreme value in a unique environment.

Taco Republic does not use open table. I put our name on the waitlist only to arrive and be told they do not use it at all. Not sure why they are still on there, but don’t use the waitlist feature and expect to get a seat.

We put our name on the wait list through Open table. When we arrived they said ‘Open Table hasn’t been working for us tonight’ and do not offer to replace us on the wait list.

Delicious street tacos! We usually come here because I’m craving their elotes. It’s pretty packed on the weekends, so maybe not a place to have dinner if you’re hoping to have conversation.

I met a couple of friends for dinner. The Salazar and Camerones tacos were awesome! The salsa and margarita was good and the churros were the best I've had. The price was very reasonable!

We tried this place on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was! My favorite was the grilled shrimp tostada, and my wife loved the veggie hearts of palm fried tacos. Great beer, great food, big patio...awesome

Nice place for street tacos and drinks outside. Would be nice if they fixed that huge metal overhead fan they have so that the fan blades aren't constantly "CLINK!" against the the metal cage surrounding it.

We had a great time again and Thomas was awesome as a waiter. It was a bit noisy with all the young kids running around but always a good time and the food was awesome
