The story all began in 2003 when Chef David started his culinary career. With over 15 years of experience culminating to being executive chef, Chef David and his family decided to finally open up their own restaurant, a dream the family had for years. Tacos Madre Mexican Cocina is the first concept that embodies "comida cacera," which translates "a home style of cooking". Opening the doors in November of 2021 in Costa Mesa, the restaurant was an instant neighborhood classic. With the success of Tacos Madre Mexican Cocina, the family decided to open up an upscale concept with a full bar program. The family is very proud to serve and be a staple in the community: sourcing the best ingredients, creating an atmosphere where people can come to celebrate and also create life's special moments. Birria was great, nachos were ok, guac subpar, and the prices weren’t terrible. Lot of focus on aesthetic of restaurant, could use some of that same detail on food quality. 7/10

I’m sorry. But the customer service wasn’t that great server wasn’t really attended to my table. Food had better somewhere else. I don’t recommend.

I ordered the Carnitas wet burrito with half red half green sauce, it was delicious!! The sauces were not spicy at all but had very good flavor.

Made a reservation for outdoor dining for two. When we got there they had said they were not doing outdoor seating all day. They apparently never had a reservation made and sat 4 parties ahead of us despite arriving early. We were unable to be seated and by that time there were no reservations available anywhere for the rest of the night.

We loved it . Authentic food , delicious drinks, Quiet enough to have a conversation and the ambiance was great . We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely be returning .

Great experience overall! We came on a Sunday for brunch and there was a live band playing for the entire time we were there. The ambiance was fun. Foods were amazing and service was excellent. Its just that the band was playing so it’s pretty loud and hard to actually talk to each other. But of course if you come to enjoy the band, you will definitely have a good time
