We were never sat. We had an 8 pm reservation. We arrived early and waited patiently only to find out that a whole section was being closed so a server could go home. Another server was new and did not feel they could cover any additional tables. So essentially only the bar area was being seated. The hostess sat walkins before us in the bar. We had to aske the hostess what was going on and that’s the explanation she provided. It was bad and frustrating for a place to be staffed so inappropriately on one of the busiest nights in the service industry. I have never seen anything quite like it. The bartender was working harder than anyone trying to work the bar and take other tables. I’m not even sure there was a manager in duty. The hostess was the worst. She had trouble firmly and clearly communicating the situation. We would have chosen to sat in the bar when we had initially arrived. She couldn’t clearly tell people how long the wait was. Untimely she stood around a lot looking in the weeds despite not actually having much work to do.

Came to Takara a third time. Takara is definitely one of the best restaurant in Sugar Land. If u r craving for some sushi rolls or korean bugogi they have it all. Ambience and location is really nice and food is exceptional taste and quality. We enjoyed the apetizer jalapeneo bomb, sushi rolls and beef bugogi. Highly recommend this place for families, friends with or without kids to gather and have a great time in relaxing ambience with some awesome food.
