   Wow! Had someone recommend dining at Takato… Best piece of advice ever! Crunchy tuna appetizer was outstanding. Pork ribs appetizer - again, just delicious! Ended up sitting at the bar to eat, bartender Jandre was extremely knowledgeable, prompt and helpful. If in the area, don’t miss out on this dining experience

   We made a reservation for an outside table to celebrate our anniversary. After a saccharine, perfunctory greeting we were told that we’d need to wait 20-30 minutes for a table outdoors. Reluctantly, we took an indoor table and were kind of overwhelmed by the noise level and the general tackiness of the crowd. The drinks were good, the food was good, the service attentive. But we felt disrespected and, though this was our second time here, I doubt that we’ll return. It’s a bit reminiscent of South Beach 1995, though not in a good way.

   We paid for the VIP ticket which we reserved a month ago. I even contacted the managers Helen directly to ensure we would have a table. Upon arrival I was told that all the tables were reserved for other guests and that I could stand at a high top for the remainder of the night. I went and found the manager Helen and asked what happened and she told me that they were trying to accommodate everyone. We tried to make the best of it until we watched them carry 3 more tables in and set up in front of us for guests who arrived after us. We left at 9:30 pm and will not be back. Very disappointing as we have been customers since their opening night and have gone to every event they have sponsored. We spoke to several other couples with the same issues. They are obviously only catering to tourists and new clientele and like so many restaurants before them have abandoned their core local customers. We have brought many friends and customers to dinner and lunch in many occasions and are beyond disappointed.

   Takato New Year’s party was awesome! So generous and so much entertainment, excellent food, drinks, fireworks and more! Food and service is fantastic every time we have been there!

   The food was amazing but the New Year’s Eve experience was awful. We booked through OpenTable and when we arrived they told us they didn’t reserve a table for us. They tried to say it was an option but we were not given that option when we booked. To pay $1500 and not have a seat was ridiculous and awful. There were so many people complaining, it was a bad event for Takato. It’s one of our favorite restaurants and the way they handled last night was completely unprofessional. To charge people that amount of money and not have a seat for  them and to act like it was our fault was appalling. The hostess and the two women in the management position were not accommodating. They acted completely useless.  Horrible experience!!!!

   We attended the NYE event and everything was top notch! The staff was amazing & everything was ran so smoothly! We were very impressed! 10/10 would go back!

    Overall a fantastic experience. From the hostess being so patient to get us the right table to the amazingly delicious meal, there were little to no complaints. We tried a few different meals but our favorites were the Duck Bao Buns and the Spicy Hotate Maki roll. They were absolutely declicious and it was perfect ending with the Ube cheesecake. Can’t wait to come back here.
