The first trail-blazing Taller de Tapas, opened in 2003, is set on a beautiful square in the shadow of the Eglesia del Pi and a short stroll from the world famous Boqueria food market. Take a break from sightseeing to sit in the entertaining square and watch the world stroll by while fuelling up on rocket and local goat´s cheese salad, some delicious Patatas Bravas or steamed Mediterranean mussels. Or, take a table inside to watch your order being cooked from fresh in the bustling open kitchen. Converting the centuries old building into something so contemporary, yet respectful of tradition was a labour of love. So is the food that Sant Josep Oriol serves.

stopped in for a quick lunch, decided to eat inside the restaurant for the much needed air conditioning. Big mistake! These guys seem to have a problem with flies everywhere, we ended up moving tables twice to escape them but no luck! They definitely need to fix this! Ruined what could've been an ok meal. We spend the entire meal swatting away the swarm! The food was a reasonable quality. Nothing to write home about but not terrible either.

Excellent authentic tapas in Barcelona. Waitstaff spoke enough English for us to make it through ordering. Everyone, including the kids and grandparents were happy!
