Although the food was very good, it was way overpriced. Server was miserable. Never smiled. Charged $5 for 4 small pieces if bread. Wine $20 a glass (not advertised in menu). The worst was the waiter.

Our first visit to Tartine & Tartelette was yesterday evening and we could not have enjoyed it any more! Every bite was exquisite- for starters we had the onion soup, escargot, the duck and lamb shank entrees and apple strudel served with ice cream. The owner was providing all the service and he was right on it! He was even pouring our delicious bottle of Sancerre before our glasses were empty. We already are planning on taking several dear friends in the very near future so they can enjoy the wonderful and delicious experience we had!

The Veal Sweetbread and Duck breast were the best we’ve ever had! And we ate two baskets of bread-just couldn’t stop! 😂 Definitely coming back!

Galyna and Sergiy are passionate about the food they serve. They go out of their way to source the best ingredients, and it shows in every bite. But beyond just great food, they create an experience that feels warm, personal, and deeply rooted in their love of both French and Ukrainian culinary traditions. We dined here on Valentine's Day, and it was a thoughtful, well-paced meal where every course felt intentional. The duck pâté with pistachio was one of the best I’ve had outside of France—rustic, rich, and perfectly paired with fruit jam and bread. The fish course was another standout, a beautifully cooked wild-caught fillet with risotto. Then came dessert, a true reflection of their unique blend of traditions. The Floating Island, a delicate meringue on crème anglaise with caramel drizzle, was pure French elegance. The Chef’s Special Dessert turned out to be a stunning honey cake, a comforting nod to their Ukrainian roots. What makes this place special isn’t just the food. It’s the dedication. Running a restaurant is hard enough, but they also operate a separate bakery just a stone’s throw away, where you’ll find everything from perfect Croque Monsieurs to Khinkali (Eastern European dumplings) and, of course, more of that incredible honey cake. If dinner leaves you wanting more, it’s worth making a stop there the next morning. This isn’t a place chasing trends. It’s built on skill, heart, and sheer hard work. No restaurant is perfect, but if you appreciate food made with passion and a great story behind it, this is a restaurant—and a bakery—worth supporting.

The host couple was very nice, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The restaurant does not serve tap water, only bottled which you pay for. The wine list did not offer an option for wine by the glass, which would have been nice for the casual drinker or solo diner. I would have preferred that the quail had been deboned, but besides that, the food was so over salted that if I had high blood pressure, I would have had a stroke.

Sergiy and Galyna are amazing! They treated us like family… we’ve spent a lot of time in France and they made the most authentic French food! We ordered the wild mushroom soup, cassoulet, sweetbreads, smoked salmon & bouillabaisse every bite was delicious…they also helped pair the most perfect wines …make sure you save room for the deserts all made in house Napoleons, Opera Cake and triple chocolate mousse paired with coffee with the perfect crema on top…they make and serve everything to order so give yourself time to relax and soak it all in…it will become a favorite!

not what it used to be. when owned by the French couple. food may have been frozen . casolet was a bowl of tasteless mush . Been burgenoin dry and boiling hot from microwave. no taste. Apple strudel mushy and boiling hot as well . only served bottled water, no tapwater available. Of course it was an up charge and the bread was a charge as well although I have to say it was excellent. The presentation on all of the food was nonexistent . the owner who was our service person had trouble understanding us. It used to be great but not anymore. I’m sorry to have to write this because I know it’s not good for them, but it’s the reality.

The escargots were the most delicious I’ve ever tried, and the duck breast with berry sauce was incredibly tender. An unforgettable culinary experience!
