Taste of Sahara

Middle Eastern
A Lebanese and Persian restaurant on Brighton’s busy Western Road, Taste of Sahara gives seaside dwellers a taste of the exotic at a very reasonable price. With its décor created with care to reflect the atypical Middle East of story books and holiday brochures – all pierced tin lanterns, heavy wood and rich colours – Taste of Sahara has a look which reflects the diverse flavours of its immensely flavourful menu. From kebabs to tagines, all one’s Middle Eastern favourites are offered by the Sahara kitchen, along with some lesser known dishes that will tempt the more adventurous diner. In particular, the restaurant’s mezzes prove popular, the sharing concept somehow suited to this kind of cuisine, particularly when accompanied by the BYO policy.

Had a great first experience and this was my second visit. Sadly didn't live up to the first visit. Starters took a long time to arrive, main course was over-cooked and bill over-stated.

Had a large group dinner at Taste of Sahara in Brighton and had a great experience! Fantastic value for money especially as BYO with no corkage fees. Friendly and timely service, very accomodating to the larger table size and all starters and mains were served to everyone at the same time. Only one main was slightly later and a complimentary side was provided alongside this. Relaxed atmosphere and felt no pressure to rush out after eating which was appreciated.

I enjoyed my meal at Sahara in Brighton so much that I have to visit Brighton again this year so that I can return! Food: Moroccan was FABULOUS! Tasty & spicy but not HOT. 3 of us started with the Mezi (for 2) and it was so generous we were full but then Mains were so tasty we ate those too (Lamb Tagine/Mixed Shish Grill/Lamb chops). 2 dining rooms 1 at rear has 2 round tables which can be curtained off. Enclosed patio at back. 1 Female WC. BYOB no corkage! Helpful/charming Manager. Recommend

Four of us enjoyed a pre-concert dinner at the Sahara in Brighton. The food was of high quality with authentic North Africa/Middle Eastern flavours. Staff were friendly and efficient. No licence, but several nearby places to buy wine or beer if you've come unprepared. Recommended.

I visited Sahara in Brighton with 4 friends last Friday night. I can honestly say that this was one of the best meals and most professional and attentive service that I have ever had. From the moment we arrived to the time that we left the owner and his staff were so charming. We ate from a set menu which was superb and excellent value and we were seated in a private and very comfortable booth. It was so good that we stayed for almost 4 hours! I would highly recommend this restauarant.
