Tavern House is the creation of restaurateurs David Wilhelm and Gregg Solomon who have developed numerous Orange County restaurants over the past 25 years, including Kachina, Bistro 201, Barbacoa, Chat Noir, Diva, Sorrento Grille and French 75. The menu reflects a collection of Chef Wilhelm's popular signature seafood and comfort food dishes. A large centrally located bar drives a vibrant night time scene in what is arguably one of the best view locations in Newport Harbor. Tavern House has a beautiful 50 seat private room for banquets with full views of the harbor and a warm central fireplace.

My friend drove in from out of state and Tavern House is one of her favorites! We went for happy hour and the view was amazing! Sunset and soup! We each enjoyed a cup of clam chowder. One of the best chowders I’ve tasted! Also had the pear and prosciutto flatbread because that is off the charts deliciousness!!! We finished the evening with coffee and the famous bananageddon! Great night at the Tavern House!

We went to the Tavern House for my son’s Birthday. The food was amazing, we had several different things. The beef dip sandwich was delicious the meat was piled high and the bread was crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. The chicken and mashed potatoes were spot on, the fillet with French onion soup was also so good. I can’t say enough about the food, ambience, the view and service. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place.

Once again our server Christian made our evening awesome and funny. His humor and going the extra mile makes all the difference in the world. He creates a fun atmosphere that all can enjoy. The prime rib was delicious…the whole meal was. The waitress anticipated our needs and checked in on us without disturbing our meal. She seemed to know what we would need and brought it immediately;y upon request Great evening at the Tavern House Kitchen and Bar!

Enjoyed a New Year sunset dinner with our older son and his girlfriend at Tavern House. We shared the brussel sprouts and the sausage and pepperoni flatbread, they both were delicious. For our main we had the Filet Mignon, French Dip and the cheeseburger. All were excellent and for dessert we shared the carrot cake. Beautiful view, great food and above and beyond service. We love eating here.
