Taxman CityWay is a gastropub and beer garden located in an 1850s renovated livery building, right in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. This family friendly gastropub features three full service bars offering 20 rotating Taxman beers, local ciders and a wide variety of wine and spirits, as well as a pet-friendly outdoor patio. The seasonal menu highlights local and regional farmers and is anchored by a wide variety of local beef burgers, steaks, housemade pretzels, seasonal sandwiches, Belgian-style French fries (commonly referred to as “frites”) and Belgian-style Liege waffles.

Situated directly next door to Gainbridge Fieldhouse and several blocks from Lucas Oil Stadium, Taxman CityWay offers one of the largest patios in downtown Indianapolis and has a stage featuring live music throughout the spring, summer and fall. A second floor private event space features the lofted ceilings, a modern fireplace, private bar and old-world charm.

Had a great experience for a ladies’ night out. Server was very helpful and patient. We sat upstairs and it was nice to have the extra space. We would return.

Drinks and food were all delicious. Service was good despite being a busy Valentines Day evening with several events going on around downtown. Staff was friendly and took great care of us. Looking forward to coming back in the summer and watching the trains from the patio.

Food was awesome and our sever helped us take advantage of the happy hour deals! She also made some great recommendations for drippings with our French fries and drink recommendations. We were going to Grainbridge so the location is perfect and the kids loved their food so I didn’t have to buy anything at the event! Great place, great food, and fabulous service perfect way to start the night.

We were seated promptly per our reservation. The waitress (Kali?) was welcoming and helpful. We were surprised that the only beer sizes were 4 and 12 oz, but it turned out to be fine. The beers we had were good and the selection was wide. The menu was somewhat limited and, being on a low sodium diet, difficult for me. I managed with the salmon (minus the bacon) but that was about the only thing on the menu I felt comfortable ordering. It was a bit dry but otherwise fine. My wife had the trout and the same "review" as to that dish. Not sure if we'd go back simply because of my limitations, but if you don't have a low sodium restriction I would recommend the place.

French onion soup + frisco melt was AMAZING! Fun atmosphere, strong cocktails and in walking distance of Lucas Oil Stadium! Perfect dinner before a concert.

My wife and I brought our 1 & 3 year olds here for lunch. After waiting for an hour for our meal we flagged our waitress to check on our food because our kids were hungry and antsy. About 20 minutes after that, their burger came out. We had been there for an hour and a half at that point. We needed to get our kids home to nap so we asked for our burgers to go. The staff never apologized for the wait and acted like it was normal. I was surprised that the manager didn’t come say something or offer a concession on our bill. Needless to say, we will not be returning.
