   Taylor Street Tavern is conveniently located to many venues in downtown Portland. Service is friendly and timely. However, I was disappointed last night to find that the menu had changed and several of my "go to" dishes had been removed. The menu is carnivore centric. A further disappointment was finding that the bread pudding dessert was more like french toast sticks with a scoop of ice cream, not the warm, pudding consistency I was hoping for. All in all, it's a great option before catching a movie or a live performance.

   Decided to have a Galentine’s Day brunch with my girls. We had the “Bubbles with Bites” (basically their bottomless Mimosas). All the food was tasty! The chilaquiles were SO FLAVORFUL! Chicken was fried well. Juicy and tender. The waffles were light and airy, not dense. The hollandaise sauce was smooth and silky. Will definitely return. The seating was nice. Spaced out well. The ambiance was that of a spot you can go with your girls or date with your guy. Lief was bartending and servicing tables. Kept our glasses filled and was very attentive.

   Our waiter was very friendly as was the host but the service was slow, the kitchen appeared to be backed up and it was even suggested to us not to order desert. We will give it another try later.

   Perfect location and fare for a great Birthday dinner for my Wife and pre-show experience. The food and Service were outstanding. We will be back.

   My wife and I went to Taylor Street Tavern for Valentine's day dinner. We were the second couple to be seated. I will NOT go back there. It started out okay; we got the salad in good order, but then it went down hill from there. The restaurant was grossly under staffed. We waited 45 minutes before we were told that the kitchen had lost our order. So we continued to wait for another 10 minutes. They brought out the steak (we had ordered medium and medium-rare) and they came out almost raw and extremely rare. We had to send it back. So we had to wait again for another 20 minutes. They got the doneness correct, but my steak had a significant amount of gristle. Our server talked to the manager and we got one meal comped. It should have been both, but at least they did something. There were people who came and were seated 30 minutes after us that had been served their meal and desert and signed their check before we had gotten desert. Overall, a really bad experience and I would not recommend this place.

   If I could give zero stars, I would. I made a reservation for seven people at 8:30. We showed up at 8:40. In a very rude way, the two bartenders/servers told us that the kitchen closes at nine and if we were prepared to order right at that moment that we could stay. They did not apologize once for even accepting the reservation or not being able to accommodate us . Very rude all around.

   Food was good. Service was good. However, we waited about 10 minutes to get our order taken; then 30-40 minutes before we got our food. Not the server's fault but it was clear that management, using one kitchen for 2 busy restaurants was unprepared for a Saturday night crowd. We had to rush eating so we didn't miss our concert and had no time for dessert.

    We had been here once before, and had a great experience. This time our food wasn’t warm, although what we had was good. There were only 4 mussels in the pasta we ordered, which seemed skimpy. We will try again in hopes that this was just an off night.
