   Visited on Friday evening for the first time to use a voucher we received for Christmas. Lovely quirky hotel with lots to admire and the grounds are beautiful. Food was fabulous. Drinks less expensive than i thought they'd be. Service was excellent. Staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely return at some point.

   We had the 2 course itison voucher and the food was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, will definitely be going back

   Place wasn’t very friendly, atmosphere was rubbish. Not enough servers on and the place was full. Had to wait a long time before being served. No one came back to ask if we wanted a sweet or tea or coffee. Would not recommend this place.

   Hi Avril, Yes we were actually very busy today and we had a staff member come down sick at the last minute which put us very tight on the floor, To award us a one star review becuase of this is toally unacceptbale and we refute this review when you scored our food 4/5 we got a 1/5 due to us being short staffed which happens unfortunalty, You wouldnt recommend us? why?

   Great eating experience,food was lovely. Had starter of wild mushroom and poached egg on sourdough bread with Parmesan crisp,delicious. Main course,had Boar burger with fries,coleslaw and onion rings,ample portion,delicious.Wife had beef shin and bone marrow pie with mash,baby carrots, baby corns,again very good,main courses were served on a board which got a bit messy,we would have prefered plates,but thats just us. Will definitely return. Friendly staff who got timings just right between courses.

   Food was expensive , luckily had a voucher to pay with . Without that overpriced . Quality ok but nothing special. Nice surroundings and staff pleasant .

   My wife had the battered fish & chips and she says it was one of the best she’s had batter was so crispy, triple cooked chips excellent , I had pork chop with eggs a meal I hadn’t had for years and it didn’t disappoint followed by sticky toffee pudding
