We received a warm welcome from staff and locals. Delicious home cooked food, in a quaint country setting, great value for money.

We arrived to a nearly empty pub at 7:30 on a Friday evening which was a surprise. The staff were friendly and efficient. The menu was ok, although not inspiring. None of the starters were homemade and even the bread with the Camembert was boring. The mains were reasonable, food was hot and served in a timely manner. The desserts were awful! Again none homemade. My waffle with cherries and icecream had tinned cherries that looked like olives with it and they were sour. I expected a lovely sweet saucy cherry covering to a crispy waffle. Generally the service was fabulous but I only ate one corner of my dessert and when the waitress collected the plates she put another plate on top of my whole dessert to remove the plates and didn’t even ask if there was a problem with it. The same waitress, whilst cleaning another table, called across later and said ‘oh, I forgot to ask if everything was alright’. Well, the moment had gone and we had a fun evening with friends but the food certainly wasn’t a highlight. We love the sister pub and can’t believe they are under the same ownership.

Great meal, fish and chips and the steak pie were delicious! Served by friendly staff. Great quality breakfast too! Would definitely recommend

An absolute disgrace. Open table confirmed the booking but the restaurant was closed. We met other diners in the car park who also had reservations confirmed through Opentable.

Very good, more vegetarian/vegan options would make it a more frequently visited destination. Menu was not as advertised which was a bit of a shame.
