I thought our server was very nice but I was overall disappointed with the tea. It was Afternoon tea and we were served a very small scone with clotted cream (which was a plus.) There was also a hefty amount of marmalade served, but there was not enough scone to put it on! But the scone was way too small and sweet. Then there were three finger sandwiches that tasted like they had been sitting for a while. There was a lot of sweets, so it was not a very balanced tea. Again there should have been multiple scones and more savory. The pastries were fine, the passionfruit tart was very good. We got the sparkling wine and that was very good, but overall i did not think it was worth the value. Glasses and china were nice, it was basically in the hotel lobby so it was a bit bustling.

Great ambiance and food. Had brunch there and though they ran out of the cinnamon roll the chocolate croissant was excellent.

My husband and I recently dined at The Allis for afternoon tea. First and foremost, the service was great; however, it contrasted greatly with the ambiance and food. When we were shown our table, the chairs and area around the table were very dirty. We had to wipe down our own dining area. For the price of tea, we were expecting excellent food and tea. Both were subpar. This is not the restaurant to dine at for afternoon tea. If the meal was half the price (it would have to be less than $30), then maybe it could be a consideration for afternoon tea. We thank the service staff for working with what they were given and for attempting to make our dining experience as well as it could be.

Waitress left for a long time. We think she was having a bad day. No utensils until we asked for them. Cinnamon roll was cold and old. There was an amazing sticky toffee pudding that wasn’t on the menu, but we saw others having it and ordered it. It was the BEST. Ambiance was nice.

The high tea could use more savory sandwiches. The scones were decent but cold. The chocolate cupcakes and mini pumpkin pies were the most popular with our group. Overall it was fine, but not as amazing a some of the other high teas in Chicago.
