   What a lovely, intimate restaurant, had most of the tapas, glad we did, so tasty. Also had a few of the non-alcoholic cocktails, which were refreshing. The staff were friendly and efficient. Definitely be back when we visit again.

   Lovely space, but the service was, to be polite, minimal. Wrong menus were out at the start, and there was a very long wait between starters and mains. The food was okay, miso mushroom starter - essentially a big plate of button mushrooms for £7, not so much high on flavour but not bad. Main - Buddha bowl - fine, thought for £16 I expected more. Small bowl with only a few chunks of tofu, some quinoa but mainly salad leaves. I’ve had much better, more filling Buddha bowls in Manchester for less than half the price. However, my friends enjoyed their food and loved the sticky toffee pudding and it was a nice meal, just expected more from a weekday lunch from the premium menu pricing.

   Very enjoyable experience, unlike some tapas where plates are barely a mouthful each dish would have been ideal as a starter and 3 dishes were more than enough for my evening meal. Food tasty and a good variety.

   Overall a poor experience. Team member not welcoming, engaging or friendly at all throughout service. Food and drinks very slow, no staff at all in restaurant for c6-7 mins at a time. Slow to clear table. Soy / pea ball things were disgusting. Dishes that sounded healthy came dripping in oil. I doubt I’d recommend or return.

   Waited 40 minutes for afternoon tea, despite having booked it way in advance and only one other table being occupied. Cakes appeared to have been frozen then defrosted, causing strange texture. Enjoyed cauliflower dish, sandwiches and scone.

    The variety and the quality of the menu can't be any better. Unfortunately the food takes too long to arrive and what's worse, you can't walk in but have to book a table, even if there were enough staff to do this for you (or, at least, let you know there was this option, instead of dismissing you entirely). We saw at least 3 parties entering and leaving, being turned away or ignored, even if there were enough tables to sit them. The restaurant is a tapas sort of place. The food takes a long while to arrive, even when it's not at all full, and the staff don't seem interested in helping you have a good experience. For example, we ordered 5 dishes, but the staff (3 people who tended to disappear every so often or talk to each other and forget customers) only brought us plates to eat from after a long while after we had 4 dishes of food in front of us. They apologised for the long wait for our food but didn't offer any compensation for it and a service charge is automatically added to the bill. As a vegan place the concept is outstanding and we really wanted to be able to give a more favourable review. We walked past a series of better reviewed restaurants (the reviews on Google for The Allotment mentioned the quality of the food, not of the whole unprofessional experience) because, being vegetarian, we are really wanted to try this place out.
