   Excellent food and service! We had the carrots salad, sourdough bread, halibut, and porkchop entrees with the potato side. All were incredibly good!

   My frustration stems from when I attempted to order the sourdough as an appetizer we were informed by the server they ran out. Ok no worries! When she returned to take our order I ordered the Lamb sugo. That’s when my frustration set in. The rest of the table had ordered and now I’m put on the spot because, you guessed it! They ran out of that as well! Really!?!? You couldn’t have mentioned what you were out of when you came to the table!?!? So absolutely rushed I settled on a ceaser salad! The food we did get was good. They have a very limited menu which is good because they can really nail what they make. I would expect the chef to count down any limited items and communicate that to the servers who would in turn inform the guests allowing them to make alternative choices while not being rushed.

   The ambiance is incredible at the Aparatus Room! I brought my out of town family here after Christmas and they all were so impressed with everything. Our server, Kate, was wonderful, kind and helpful with the menu. Of the seven guests 4 had the smoked pork chop and raved about it's great flavor. The others had the beet risotto with salmon, the short rib with butternut squash puree and a lightly dressed bacon spinnach salad,(so delish and tender) and finally, the last dish was the halibut with a sauce that was fantastic. We ordered 2 salads for the 7 of us which was perfect portions. This is my third time here and we are never disappointed. Oh yea, the coolest part was when we arrived early, we asked for a tour of the hotel. Our tour guide had a wealth of information to share with us. Great Detroit history lesson! I would highly recommend coming for dinner at the Aparatus Room!

   Short ribs were fantastic and loved the bench seat and atmosphere! Will definitely be back.

   First of all, this is a gorgeous workover of a landmark building. Kudos. However, the noise level makes any conversation difficult. The service was excellent. Food quality depends on what you order. Halibut exceeded a 5/5; kid's pasta 5/5; caesar salad 5/5; gnocci and beet risotto, 3.5 according to our crowd. The seasoning for the roast chicken seemed strange. But we will definitely be back.

   We had Christmas brunch at The Apparatus Room. The hostess seated us right away and was very accommodating to our seating preference. I loved that the restaurant had music in the background that wasn't too loud. The service was prompt and attentive throughout the meal. We all enjoyed our food and had a great time. I will definitely return here in the future.

   Everyone in my group complemented me on picking such a great place for brunch. Great food, great atmosphere, and great service. We met here with family from out of town that we don’t see often and we really enjoyed being able to take our time and catch up without being rushed.
