It was a set price meal for New Year’s Eve. The portions were very small and not worth the $115 per person price. We went away still hungry. The main course was maybe 6 bites. It’s sad to see this in Boise.

Celebrated NYE with Avery’s prefix menu. Everything was very delicious and quality. Not inexpensive, but worth the $$$.

We booked on Sunday 30th of December at a slot available on open table, 8 Pm. Before going, we message them to advice we LL be there 10 mins late, no replies! Thus, I called, and there a over rude lady picked up the phone, not even saying the restaurant name or either a welcoming message. I told her that we re on the way, that in 10 mins max we ll be there. Her answer was a cold: It s Closed, don t come!. I replied her I have a confirmed booking at 8h00 pm, and she said: It s 8h02, we are closed! What a place!!!! These kind of restaurant at the end you re happy to have missed ! How do you treat customers? We booked days ago and found at 8 pm in Boise on a Sunday night without réservations, shame on you, get out of this industry, it s called hospitality and you must review this definition on a dictionary! You ruined our evening!

Thus was our first time at the Avery. Everything beat our expectations! The food! The remodel! The wait staff! We had the Duck Rillette appetizer. (Similar to a pate’) The pear endive salad was so unusual and exceptionally good. We all loved our entres’ as well. We had Sole meunière, Lamb Ragout, and Moules Frites. We highly recommend The Avery!!

The staff at The Avery are beyond exceptional. We were greeted by Duane and Ada took care of our party once we were seated. The dining room was classic and lit perfectly. One complaint, the tables were so close together you couldn’t help but talk to your neighbors. At one point, a larger server was attempting to set a plate down on the table next to ours and brushed his rear against ours. I recommend making an earlier reservation to avoid the crowd. We started with the shrimp cocktail, would have liked some spice. Pear and Endive salad was amazing. Skip the Lobster Bisque. Lobster Cioppino was the clear winner of the night. Every single bite was perfect. The Beef Duo was good, but I feel like if the short rib had more sauce or a preparation that wasn’t dry, the dish would have been ten times better. Do not skip the soufflé.
