The latest venture from restauranteur Chris Himmel and Executive Chef Robert Sisca, The Banks delivers inspired interpretations of coastal favorites and classic steak dishes in an elegant two-story space in the heart of Boston's Back Bay. Came for dine out week, the scallops were amazingly paired with a smoked chestnut puree with pomegranate, and sweet potato au gratin. Wonderful service, nice ambiance for a date.

Food was good but when asked for a specific item added to entree and were told it would be at a much higher price, it was not. They did rectify and not charge but very disappointing.

Boston Dine menu was excellent, unlike what we often see for this promotion. Food was excellent, service satisfactory. Nice to see a manager assisting during a busy period.

Oysters were not properly shucked. They were still attached to the shell. For 4$ an oyster I expect they know how to shuck My halibut was slightly overcooked. The lions mane mushrooms were soggy. And the sauce, while good, was not an appealing color. Didn’t look appetizing if you know what I mean. The foraged mushroom side was mostly baby portobellos. My wife’s mussels were delicious and huge portion. For the money and food quality I won’t be back.

It’s a very good restaurant for seafood, and our meal for four of us was really very good, but I have to acknowledge that the cuisine is as good at considerably lower prices at Legal Seafood in Downtown Crossing.
