Slow service. Very well presented but unexciting food, considering the cost.

It was nice. I’m not sure the experience overall was worth the price tag but the food was lovely and well presented. There were a few elements that let the experience down. Whilst the staff were very friendly, the service could be more attentive. We arrived when the restaurant was quite empty, we were one of the first tables to be seated however we had been there for 45 minutes before our drinks arrived, and people who had arrived after us had their drinks and starters before we had our drinks. A whisky cocktail we ordered appeared to be missing the whisky. The bread was very crumbly but the crumbs weren’t cleared until the dessert course whereas at other tables they had been brushed away after the bread course. The menu could be clearer. We were asked if we’d like dessert when it was included in the taster menu and should have gone without saying. The table set up wasn’t ideal and there was no atmosphere really. The food was great, portion sizes were perfect, the chef is skilled and innovative and should be experienced, but it was the little details that were missing.

Awful. The food was terrible. The sandwiches were tiny; the scones were like rocks and served with burnt smaller rocks. Cheese scones were served with nothing other than cream and jam. I’ve been here before and it was much better; in this occasion it was dreadful. The service was also bad; we waited 30 minutes to just pay.

A lovely Sunday lunch in the Priory's Dining Room. The setting was beautiful and felt very luxurious. Food was of good quality and portions were more than sufficient. Ox Cheek starter with beef as main and lovely tart pudding. All done so well and felt nice and full at end. Service by waiter George was just right.Efficient, professional and just the right sort of friendly demeanour. For wife and myself a great day. Value for money for such good quality and setting.

We have visited The Priory a couple of times now for dinner - it is a gorgeous restaurant with terrific food, a relaxed and calm setting, and attentive staff. It's a precious jewel that we consider a rare treat night out.

I attended for lunch with a disabled friend for her birthday. My disabled friend arrived before me. I was disappointed that the staff had not offered to take her coat or show her to the nice lounge area but to a smaller sitting room which was a bit like a smart waiting room. Perhaps the nice lounge area was only for residents. There did not appear to be any disabled toilets , at least my friend was not shown to any and had to negotiate the ladies loo with her roller walking frame. Despite me saying it was a special occasion and the restaurant saying they would organise a plate with happy birthday on it , they had forgotten to do so . It arrived with the bill after having reminded the waiter. The restaurant itself was a bit dated with very bright over head halogen / led lighting with little atmosphere. Food choice for Sunday lunch was limited - although that in it self was not an issue the standard of food was good but not what I would have expected of a chateau relais hotel but it was value for money .
