What a treat - welcomed by a pianist in the bar, where we enjoyed a drink by the sunlit windows, before tucking into the Sunday carvery. The carvery was first class, excellent ingredients, beautifully cooked and bursting with flavour - the best carvery we have had (and at a fabulous price too!). We have already booked for next week.

We sat in the front saloon as we had our dog with us and it was lovely and relaxing in there, The food was very good, nice choice of meat and vegetables and accompaniments. Staff were all very nice and attentive. There was a pianist who played music which was lovely too. I think it was really good value for money. We will definitely be going back.

Very disorganised barmaid took us to our table and said someone was coming to take our drinks order and food, a waitress come along sometime later and asked what drinks we wanted and food but we never had a menu on our table and the french onion soup was the only starter in the £16.50 deal or you could upgrade by £ 4.00. We then got our soup but no drinks, asked about drinks when they cleared the table and said they would chase them , we then sat there as no one said we could go up the carvery and then we see other people going up so we asked and she said oh yes. we then got our food which was lovely but the plates was not very big and the gravy on our plates was spilling over onto our table when eating and halfway through our meal we eventually got our drinks but only one waitress was concerned and sorted it out. They then cleared our table and asked if we wanted dessert but we declined and didn't ask if we wanted another drink but 5 minutes later then got handed the bill which we never asked for and thought it was a bit steep for a pint of orange juice and lemonade to be £7.44

I would definitely recommend a visit to the Bawsey Sandboy. This is a very new experience - we visited last Sunday and were told it was the second time they had done the carvery. The pub is clean and well staffed with a good selection of drinks. There was pleasant ambient piano music from a live pianist playing a baby grand, which really felt special. The dining area where the carvery was served is a work in progress but we had a good table and the food itself was absolutely delicious, good quality and well presented. We all enjoyed ourselves, and thought the staff were perfect. Attentive without being in your face, and polite and personable. We look forward to returning.
