We had one of the tasting menus and it was a ton of food but absolutely worthwhile. The crab croquettes, bites with raw tuna and crab Louie cones were our favorites but everything was absolutely delicious. Service was perfect. Elegant but not stuffy at all. Wonderful food, beautiful restaurant, excellent service.

As a lover of José Adrés restaurants, we were excited to visit The Bazaar for my sister’s birthday. What a disappointment. Tucked off the side of the central atrium of the Waldorf Astoria hotel, the restaurant feels like an afterthought. The piecemeal furniture, place settings and decoration are an indication of haphazard service. Silverware and plates are not changed during the service even with repeated (three) requests. Staff is busy talking to each other, not taking orders. Then there is the food: looks pretty (we all had the lunch tasting menu), but arrives at different times like it is shared plates—tapas-style. The Waldorf salad tastes nice, and looks pretty but is tiny; the chicken thighs were nearly raw in the center; and, the Spanish custard was icebox cold. The mussels, sliced meats and octopus are fine. We will stick to our favorite Andrés restaurants and avoid this one in the future. Don’t make a trip for this restaurant.

Not authentic Spanish cuisine. Overpriced, dish presentation not as expected. The Spanish tortilla was a disappointment too.

Food was outstanding. Rib eye special. Salmon, tuna pillows. $12 for two oz of onion soup that you drink like a cappuccino was flavorful but disappointing. Service was not well paced and you had to get used to everything showing up one at a time so the two of us didn't have food at the same time with five items ordered.

The service and hospitality were truly exceptional. Every waiter and staff member who served our table was very attentive, polite, and always smiling. The restaurant follows a tapas-style service, so the appetizer portions are small, but the flavors are absolutely outstanding. Highly recommended for those looking for delicious food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

After 15 years of living in DC, and having visited most of José Andrés's restaurants, this is the first time that I feel the need to leave a review. As always, they exceeded in food service and experience; the food menu was amazing, and I enjoyed a great time with my sister. Kudos to Will, who was our server. However, I cannot ignore a mishap that happened to us just upon arriving at Bazaar restaurant and having the first encounter with the hostess. We arrived and requested a table. A gentleman reviewed and asked us to hold for a minute, saying we would be seated by the hostess, who was on the phone at that moment. We waited more than 10 minutes, being ignored while she was on the phone. Finally, she hung up and told us that tables were not available (many tables were available, but I assumed reservations were in place, so I asked her how long it might take to wait for one). She was rude by replying that it could be 10 minutes or 2 hours and didn't give us other options such as providing our names or checking available times. Once we asked her those questions, she simply did not reply and looked away, signaling her intention to ignore our presence at the restaurant. This made us uncomfortable and prompted me to check online for a reservation, noticing that all times were available, including at that moment—so I made the reservation without other option than her giving us a table after a very unnecessary, uncomfortable encounter. What made me most uncomfortable was realizing that we were clearly profiled, as she didn't even ask us the name on the reservation or at what time we made it; she just guided us to the table. I should note that I had the chance to meet the manager after our amazing meal. He took note of the situation, and we hope the feedback reaches her so others don't encounter this type of situation that could clearly ruin your whole experience and day! I didn't let the hostess affect my mood because I was focused on how lucky I was having my sis in town.
