The Beacon Butcher Bar is a labor of love from Tina Houston, owner of Reid’s Café & Catering Co., established here in the High Country since 1999. The Beacon is located in the heart of Boone, NC adjacent to the iconic Water Wheel. Just as we value beautiful ingredients in our catering, The Beacon adheres to a similar message.

In the kitchen, we value the fashion from scratch details as small as the aiolis and dressings we use, to the housemade desserts and pastries, cured and smoked meats, and naturally fermented pickles. Behind the bar, we strive for innovation and discovery from our unique and inspiring cocktails. We work within the seasons of the Blue Ridge to present a deliberate and thoughtful menu. We love the intentional, the specific, the well-cared-for.

Respectively, our market offers a unique selection of local goods and treats. From our featured cloister honey to housemade single origin chocolates, we present the craft and exceptionality of local, artisanal talent.

    Relaxing ambience in a dimly-lit semi-formal environment. Excellent service by our waitress, who had a great knowledge of the menu. She was attentive, energetic, and added joy to our experience. The portion sizes were adequate, but could be more for the price of the items. Highly recommend!

    Excellent food and hospitable service. Could have used more information/heads-up throughout the 80 minute wait for our dinner, but a very nice restaurant with an interesting menu.

    This restaurant was a beautiful surprise! Excellent service, along with delicious food. We had the ravioli, ribeye and bolognese in our party. Drinks and desserts were also spot on. We will definitely be back.

    I’ve been to Beacon multiple times and - every time - the food, ambiance, service, and creativity of drinks and menu are beyond excellent. One of my favorite restaurants in the area and I take all my friends to experience the greatness.

    Outstanding!! We a great meal. Everything was presented well and tasted great. Our server CC was great and had a sense of humor. As mentioned it was all great but, my dish the wild boar Osso Bucco was perfect.
