   This is a really cute restaurant in Boone. There is a giant stone fireplace with a fire and the ambience is really nice with high ceilings and thoughtful artwork. The staff is super nice and helpful. The food was really good, although seems a little overpriced for what it is. The wine selection was great. There was a jazz band, but did not start until 9:30. Would be nice if they had started a little earlier.

   Food and service were very good, pricing could have been better, I.e. the 20 ounce steak was $85.

   I’m not sure if it’s just new ownership but the this last visit was not that great. I would only go back for deserts and coffee. The waitress come out to give us the specials, one was a ribeye so we decided to try it. When the bill come out the ribeye was 150.00 dollars so I’m not sure how that was the special. The steak wasn’t bad but I’ve eaten at Halls Chophouse in Charleston and La giostra in Florence Italy and both was half the price and a million times better. The value just wasn’t there for me. There are some other things but I’ll just leave it at that.

   Exceptionally good ambience. Cozy fireplace. Live music really nice and left room for table conversation. A special drink was brought to the table upon seating for the birthday (which had been noted on Open Table). Nice touch. Not a big menu, which we appreciate. A couple of options for our vegetarian. Food was good and full of flavor. Prices were high. Would not go often, but nice for a special occasion.

   The Beacon- great locally-owned place in Boone. You cannot go wrong with any item on the menu! In addition, you will love the art-work, the roaring fireplace on a cold night and occasional musicians providing the music for the night. Favorites- the bolognese, any fish special, Korean meatballs, the chicken dish. The bartender always crafts excellent cocktails- so be patient if it takes a few more minutes than you expect.

   Relaxing ambience in a dimly-lit semi-formal environment. Excellent service by our waitress, who had a great knowledge of the menu. She was attentive, energetic, and added joy to our experience. The portion sizes were adequate, but could be more for the price of the items. Highly recommend!
