The setting is like no other riverside venue which means you can switch off, unwind, and enjoy your precious time with us. The Beetle has played a huge part in many lives over the years and is steeped in literature history, from the Wind in the Willows, to Three Men in a Boat and not forgetting HG Well’s Mr Polly it has truly fascinated all that have discovered its true beauty. Our owner, Ben, has ensured that its character and charm has remained while adding his own magical touch.

Quite busy for a Monday lunchtime. Staff friendly but professional and we were not pressured to be finished in a certain time. Only downside is that tables could be a bit further apart. I love the idiosyncratic wash basins in the loos. A great example of up-cycling.

Nice location and ambience, it got a bit busier and noisier when more people came in. Food was very nice. A bit disappointing that several of the mains did not come with potatoes and the only choice of sides was chips or mac n cheese; mash or roast potatoes would have gone better with our choices of mains

It was very busy for Sunday Lunch, but the service and the food were very good, indeed the service was impressive given the number or people dining. It’s a lovely location and well worth a visit. Better to book first, it’s obviously, and deservedly, very popular.

We just found it on google so you never know quite what it’s going to be like but it was a fantastic find - like being in a ski chalet, warm, inviting and cosy. Our poodle was welcome in the bar part which we liked being in as very relaxed. The food was very good and the team serving us very jolly, helpful and professional. The location is stunning on the Thames which we couldn’t take advantage of so will be back in the summer despite it being an hour away from home - def worth the trek ! thank you for the warm welcome and lovely food
