   Service was really good. Food options were great. Prices are reasonable but quality of food could be improved. Ordered a filet and did not seem to be that cut of meat and was overcooked.

   This was my second time dining at the Bistro. The staff were quite pleasant and attentive. Both visits so far have been for brunch. I look forward to trying them later in the day next time. SUPPORT BLACK-OWNED BUSINESSES.

   When I walked in, my mom was standing waiting to be seated in front of a couple who was also waiting to be seated. The staff in the back of the restaurant looked overwhelmed. Only one person was waiting tables. We had to view the Chicago Black Restaurant Week menus on our phones because there weren’t any printed up. We learned two of the items we wished to eat they did not have, so we told the waiter we were going to go and she said okay. That was our experience.

   This was my first visit and I will definitely dine again. I seen the Bistro being highlighted and recognized on the news for supporting Black Restaurant Month, I can see why. I tried the creamy pasta with spicy sausage, chicken and shrimp, I also tried the crab cakes & wine. I truly enjoyed everything.

   I had reservations for 2 at 8:30pm on Valentines Day and when we arrived it seemed as if the location was under staffed and working to accommodate the other customers. After waiting for about 5 minutes for a host to seat us the bartender came and cleaned off a table so we could be seated. We then received our menus and was advised that some of the items were no longer available, which was weird when a reservation was made so I’m sure they knew how many people would be in attendance on this day but still ran out of their most important options. We then found items that we would eat but it wasn’t what we wanted because we wanted to try their surf and turf, the pasta with the andouille sausage or just even a regular steak. To our surprise, they didn’t have any of those items available. We didn’t want the other items on the menu due to it just being mostly vegetables and no protein. It was very disappointing because we really wanted to try their food but all of the items we wanted were not available. I can understand if we just came off the street and requested these items but we had reservations, accommodation for reservers would have made this a better experience. I wanted to try their food so bad I was going to even just have a burger and then was told they had no more burgers. My S/O and I were disappointed because we really wanted to try their food but there was no food to try that we would have actually enjoyed eating. They did have a great band playing which made the wait more enjoyable, we just wished we could have had the food items listed on the menu. We left after about 45 mins of waiting just to be told that what we had just ordered wouldn’t be able to be served because there wasn’t any more of it left.

   We arrived before our reservation time and our table was not ready. Once seated it took 30 minutes to get our salads and drink. We had to ask for bread as there was none automatically provided on the table. When our food arrived the lobster tails were warm and steaks were not cooked correctly and had to be sent back but still came back incorrect. Twice potatoes received was the size of a tangerine . For it to be Valentine's Day I feel they should have been properly staffed and more efficient. Not a pleasant experience.

   The only reason I gave 4 stars for food was because they ran out of many items on the menu came specifically for. The server apologized and had a very good attitude, plus we still had a good time.
