Mixed Experience at Bungalow Restaurant – Great Food, But Inconsistent Service This was our second visit to Bungalow, and while I’ve always enjoyed the food at Michael Mina’s restaurants, the overall experience here has been inconsistent. Our first visit was for my birthday. The food was delicious, but the service left something to be desired - they brought out the wrong dish entirely. I let it slide because the flavors were still great, and I chalked it up to a simple mix-up. For our Father’s Day visit, I made a point to double-check my order to avoid a repeat issue. While I did receive the correct dish this time, I unfortunately found a strand of hair in my food. Thankfully, the waitress responded quickly and brought out a fresh plate. Still, it was a bit off-putting. The restaurant seemed overwhelmed that day, perhaps due to the holiday crowd, and we noticed other tables having similar service issues. It raises the question of whether the restaurant is struggling to keep up with the high-end image it portrays. One odd detail: the restroom lighting is extremely dim, just as it was during our first visit. It doesn’t seem like a broken bulb, more like an intentional (but impractical) design choice. It’s so dark you can’t even check your reflection properly, let alone reapply lipstick. Overall, while the food and location are solid, the service and ambiance don’t quite live up to the hype. I’m still a fan of the menu, but I’m unsure if I’ll be rushing back anytime soon.

Food was terrible. Really disappointed in the quality and preparation of the food. We ordered the cioppino and it was overcooked, mushy, shellfish, or rubbery, not well cooked and a flavorless seafood broth that they poured on top after they brought it to the table. The attempt to deconstruct a cioppino was a major fail.

I think we just got unlucky tonight we’ve been here many times and had good service but the last few times have not been as good. Maybe they’re in transition?

Painfully loud music. Manager said they are trying to change the format into a more of a club vibe. Not the experience we were used to having there were you had great food, good normal music and could enjoy a conversation. Sad to have to remove this place off our list because we like everything else about it, but we left early as we couldn’t take it anymore.

Came for brunch. Bloody Marys were subpar. Tuna tartare was great. Maine lobster pot pie was lukewarm at best despite being an $85 upgrade on top of $49 lunch pp fee. Happy spoon was good but spectacular- not worth $20 for me

We all really loved our dining experience here…took family from out of town, hoping the view would be a hit. Well the food and service were just as good! Great breakfasts all around…I added the tuna tartare starter to my eggs Benedict main and it was fantastic! Family had salads and French toast and husband loved his jalepeno lobster toast and fish and chips. Great bloody Mary’s! And the view was fantastic…only down side was finding the restaurant…difficult/impossible to view any sign from the street and no signage at entry on side of building. Other than that, we loved it and look forward to returning.

Food is very good, atmosphere is fun, relaxed and view is fantastic. A couple hiccups on service (which resulting in MORE food) - which were surprising given the name and price - but worth the visit.

Great location and family friendly. Food and drinks were good, but overpriced in my opinion. We order the ribeye, New York strip, crab empanadas, oysters, and the creamed spinach puff. The oysters were not great, but can’t blame them for it.
