We got 1 steak that was supposed to be 24 oz but it seemed a lot smaller than we were expecting. It was more like 14 oz. But the quality of the steak and fish dish were really good. The fries were too thin and disappointing. The Caesar salad was really good. Had 1 beer, it was good, smaller size. 1 small cocktail, and an orange juice, and a $35 whiskey cocktail that some bus boys took away when I wasn’t even half finished drinking it. The bill was over $500. Nice atmosphere for sure, but it was upsetting that they took away my drink without asking when I didn’t notice. They gave some desserts as well that were very nice.

Excellent food and attention from very professional staff was flawless - from arrival to departure. Argentinian steak was fabulous, 4 side dishes among 5 were just right. I was really surprised how much I enjoyed the crab and spinach and the squash roll. Tarte tatin was good but maybe ease up the whipping cream as it was distracting - I should have just scraped it off. Finished off with two very nice bourbons. Only downsides and not so terrible - low lighting forced us all to get out the iPhone flashlights to read the menus, and it was a touch erratic achieving an optimal temperature on the heated terrace although heat coming from below the floor was a novel feature! I understand it’s hard to get that just right. All in all everyone really enjoyed the evening.

We were looking forward to dining at The Butcher Chef as we had heard that although expensive it would be outstanding. It was far from that. We made a 5:30 reservation as we were going to the 7pm Leafs game. Arrived at 5:15 and by the time we were seated and our waiter arrived it’s 5:30. He enquired if we were attending a show or the game so that our meal could be served in a timely manner. At the suggestion of the waiter (to accommodate our timing for Leafs game) we ordered everything at once … cocktails, app (Oysters Rockefeller) and mains (Short Rib) and 8oz sirloin with French fries as a side and 2 glasses of wine to with mains. Received cocktails pretty much right away with app following within 15 minutes so by this time it’s 5:45. We then waited 45 MINUTES for our main courses which were quite good but French fries were not cold but close…warm at best. Our waiter asked how everything was and politely said mains were good but French fries were warm when received but pretty much cold now. He offered to replace but it’s now almost 6:45 so forget it. We were also seated in the covered patio area where every few minutes a blast of hot air was blown at us. Better than being cold I suppose but not what would be expected at what is suppose to be a high end dining experience. Also of note we were seated next to a loud group of 10 people. For groups of that size you think they would be seated separately or away from smaller groups of 2 which ourselves and others in the area were. In summary VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING and WAY WAY Way over priced… $48 for 6 Oysters Rockefeller , $96 x 2 for mains and $22 for French Fries. Would have expected the waiter to offer no charge for French fries but not to be. Total bill $566.70 NOT WORTH IT.

Food came fast and was delicious. Service is 4/5 as the waitstaff forgot to bring my sauce and also forgot to pack our leftovers.
