Attended to by Christian, we had a most enjoyable anniversary lunch in a quiet dining room. Excellent meal and Portuguese wine. Will definitely come again.

Friendly welcome and attentive staff , quality of food was excellent, and presented well . Lovely bottle of Malbec too . We would highly recommend and will definitely return .

We were the only ones there. It was cold, they had no food, it smelt. Bang average food. Cheap chios and vegetables. It's so expensive it's insane. Would not recommend.

The Butchers Arms was our special place but last night was tragic. The beautiful main restaurant was closed off with only the bar area open for food. The food was not even good pub grub, my fillet steak was chewy and gristly .... how can that be with fillet steak.... it was served with oven chips half a tomato and a bit of leafy salad, no mushrooms, peas or garnish. I was looking forward to the Molatoff desert, a speciality of The Butchers Arm but it was not on the menu. In fact the menu was poor, no fresh fish, the only fish for main course was fish cakes, where is the lemon sole always a favourite. I am so sad and upset to see such a beautiful restaurant be so diminished and looking and feeling so sad.

A nostalgic return which was slightly disappointing as the main restaurant was closed and we were in the bar area and I here the sweet trolley is no more😢 However the great service and care from the Bartender and the lovely food was wonderful- the Portuguese specialities were really great and the Beef Roast better than home 👌 The orange sponge desert fantastic. Planning to go back and hopefully with more clients the main area will be open!! would hate to lose this place now we've rediscovered it- now HS2 has gone🍾- its worth getting to👍👍

We booked the Butchers Arms for dinner with my father. This was having been to the restaurant many times when under its previous owners. He’s hard to please and perhaps we’d over sold it. I’d say everything was fine but the things that made it special had gone. The expertise of the sommelier, the seat for a drink to study tge menu and choose wines before being led to the table, the sweet trolly. The food was good without being exceptional and my dads was badly presented and clearly not worth its price. It’s a lovely venue, the lady in charge was nice (and tolerated my dads moaning better than we did) but it’s not what it was, which left us a little sad.

Not what it used to be. We’ve been going here for 30 years but it’s not the same. Lots of menu items not available. Service is only ‘ok’ whereas it used to be brilliant and ‘special’ Food was bland. Don’t think we’ll be going back

From the moment you enter the restaurant there is a warm welcome from the hosts. Wonderful staff to attend to all your needs and fantastic food. Very relaxing and comfortable.
