We were the only ones at the restaurant. They forgot to bring our starter. Mains took 1 hour to prepare, even though it was just pan fried fish. Very poor service and average quality food

Friendly efficient staff and good food. Quite expensive though. The beetroot and goats cheese parcels were delicious.

The food was outstanding. However, sadly for a 5 star hotel the service could have been better. The staff should have been better presented, they were polishing tableware at the breakfast pass, we had to wait for drinks and desserts to be served. Having worked in hospitality for a number of years, as banqueting manager and hotel manager, the standard of service for a 5 star hotel should be a lot higher.

Did the pre theatre menu which was a little limited but well explained. Starter was lovely. Main was salmon and stir fry. Fish was beautiful. All of it tasted good. However the stir fry was over cooked and stodgy. Good wine list. Good service.

Booked for afternoon tea, before going on to on the hotel spa. First it was not clear where we were eating, as we went in via the Spa. Once we were taken to the right area, it was another 20minutes until we had our Afternoon Tea. The area was a sort of corridor with no atmosphere at all. We had to wait ages for staff to reappear when we wanted anything else. Food was quite nice though we were too rushed to finish it, given the slow start. The tea was ridiculously strong - even with the supplied hot water as if they had never made tea before. All in all, not a relaxing experience.

Was looking forward to seeing the changes to the hotel, and I have to say they have done a great job. We attended the pre-theatre dining option. Whilst two courses for £35.00 is not cheap, I was still looking forward to a great start to the evening. The food was ok, but having king prawn linguine, which only had 5 prawns i was not really impressed by this, even though it tasted fine. We were aware that there were 4 other tables being served, but despite being in second to be seated, we were the last to be served.

Seated in a characterless area next to a thoroughfare through the hotel on our own. Member of staff assigned to us pleasant but only available when passing by on her rounds. Had to request for our coats to be taken. Food nice but absolutely no atmosphere, no one else was seated in our area. Definitely not a five star experience. Would not recommend.
