Open seven days a week, The Capital Grille is best known for our expertly prepared steaks, which are dry aged in house for 18 to 24 days and then hand-cut by our restaurant's on-premise butcher. The Capital Grille's wine list features more than 350 selections, and its floor-to-ceiling wine kiosk regularly houses 3,500 - 5,000 bottles. Reservations are recommended but not required.     I treated my husband to an outstanding dinner at the Capital Grill for his birthday last night. The food was of the highest quality and could not have been any better. I had the New England clam chowder and it had lots of clam pieces in it and was delicious. My husband had the filet Oscar and both the filet and the crabmeat were delicious. I had the sliced filet over onions and mushrooms with a fig balsamic essence and I absolutely loved it. Our server, Savannah, was one of the best servers we have ever had and was extremely professional, knowledgeable and friendly. When we walked into the restaurant they seated us at our table and had a birthday card and lots of little birthday balloon confetti on our table and it made my husband feel very special. After dinner they brought him a surprise dessert with a candle so I could sing to him - and I did not ask them to bring it - they surprised both of us....and it was an amazing dessert - flourless chocolate cake and cheese cake with burnt sugar glazing on it. Newtown is lucky to have such a fabulous restaurant....we can't wait to dine there again!

    Our server, Daniel, was outstanding. The service all around was absolutely fantastic! The ambiance was disappointing... it actually looks dated although it's brand new. The food was delicious. Filet mignon was cooked perfectly and the creamed spinach was amazing!!

    Food was cooked perfectly and delicious. Our server, Mike, was fun and energetic. Had a drink at the bar prior to dinner and the bartenders were attentive and fun as well. Great experience.

    Our server Emily helped to make this a very special occasion. We were celebrating two birthdays and Emily was very engaging and supportive with her suggestions. She showed a willingness to talk with the chef for us regarding questions; and most importantly, made us all feel comfortable and special. When we come back, it will be for the excellent meals, along with the accommodations and service Emily provided.
