   A lovely evening of food and drink at the Cavendish Arms. The food is always good, when I’m not driving the cocktails are well worth it Service is excellent, friendly and welcoming. Being relatively local and my kids having gone to school in Cartmel this is definitely our favourite place to eat and drink.

   Went for Sunday lunch, great choice of food on offer which was beautiful, service brilliant, couldnt fault anything, even ran out with my scarf I had forgotten.

   Love it here. I come with my partner and Labrador all the time. If my partner is travelling I am really comfortable coming on my own. The food is always really good. The front of house staff are brilliant, they are attentive and really friendly, they always make an effort and also with the dog, they always remember little things such as liking ice in my drink. The waddling duck wine is amazing. Richard, you should be so proud of your team. I love it here and I can’t wait to come back again tomorrow for Sunday lunch. My No1 place in Cartmel.

    Great food but poor service. Despite booking 3 weeks ahead with details of all guests including children, arrived to be told “that table will do for you and I’ll add another chair” - no high chair available despite advance booking and request in addition to a direct call to confirm child friendly. Also, overheard a conversation at the bar between staff and manager as another customer found old chewing gum stuck to his napkin. Manager stated, that’s not our fault, it must have been a customer! Very unprofessional and unhelpful to his own staff who were clearly trying to make amends to the customer with no support from management. Excellent food but disappointing experience overall

    Thank you Deborah , It is only with information we can strive to maintain are already high scoring of 4.7 out of 5 stars, we always appreciate feed back and I will of course look into the events in more detail to ensure there is no repetition. In regards to the overheard conversation, I would politely like to correct the facts, I was not on duty on this day, and the member of staff in charge was female. Whilst I do not doubt your words in any way I can assure you that a positive feedback was given from the customer in question and the matter was resolved to their complete satisfaction, which you may not have been made aware of.
