    We were a large...and sometimes noisy...group of family diners that met for dinner on a Friday evening at the Chateau in Waltham. Despite it being a very busy time of the week and our unexpectedly adding an additional diner to our reservation at the last minute we were still graciously greeted and accommodated by their staff. Our server Kelly was phenomenal and clearly knew how to handle a large table of diners. She was polite, professional and personable. Every request was accurately met and her pleasant and efficient approach was very much appreciated. Our meals were delivered to us in a timely manner, too, and she made sure we were taken care of the entire time we dined there. She was extremely organized as well when it came time to settle the tab and a truckload of credit cards and cash were given to her to make that happen. It was no problem for her whatsoever. The Chateau in Waltham has been serving diners for decades and never once in all the years I have dined there have I ever had a bad experience.     One of the six entrees that were ordered was late in being served. Otherwise, everything was fine.

    Made a reservation for my daughter’s birthday. She likes this place, I came all the way from Texas to see her. Got seated and then was ignored for 20 minutes. The two servers that were working the section looked us, ignored us, cleaned tables instead of even saying hello. After 20 minutes I got up to ask the hostess if their restaurant wants our business and right away she was dismissive. Like she knew that we were being ignored. Even the bus person pointed at us and asked why we haven’t been acknowledged yet. The two servers seemed to be arguing over who’s table this was, and both seemed to have terrible attitudes. I was willing to stay and be seated in another spot, but my daughter was embarrassed and just wanted to go. The host asked if I would Wait to talk to the manager. I said, why. Not like they were offering me anything to earn my business back. Place was outdated and noisy with lots of loud kids. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

    The chateau figured it out 90 years ago. Good food, plenty of it (served on a platter) Good service and friendly people. Best place in Waltham.

    The service was excellent the young lady who waited on us was wonderful. Second time there the food was outstanding. We are from upstate N.Y. and will always hav3 dinner there when in Boston.

    We visited the Waltham location for my mothers birthday tonight. We had a 6:15 reservation that I had made weeks in advance. When we arrived our table wasn’t ready and we had to wait which was fine but when they sat us they sat us in a small function room with a huge other party with crying babies. It was so loud we asked to be moved, which they did. But they moved us next to another table that was even louder with about 7 kids screaming and running all around. The waiter didn’t introduce himself was not friendly in the slightest and also took quite literally 15 min to bring our drinks over. He did not ask for refills and would walk away before all of us were done asking if we could get them. Most of us went with empty drinks for more than half of the meal. Never asked how it was. We piled up our plates and moved them to the end of the table after what seemed like forever being done eating. I had brought my own cake and the hostess took it at the beginning and I had to ask the waiter to bring the cake and plates and forks. He didn’t come for about 15 more minutes and in that time span my father had went to the restroom. The waiter lights the cake when he blantely sees my father not at the table and we had to do it without him. I was not happy about that as it’s been a tough year for us and we wanted everyone present for my mother to sing happy birthday. We couldn’t wait because he has already lit the candles and it was melting all over the cake. The food was bland the salad has NO dressing on it that my other ordered and the toasted ravioli was soggy. This is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had at the chateau and we’ve been going for years. I would like a manager to contact me via email or phone please.

    Had dinner at the Chateau and it was very good. Food was delicious, we had seafood and some pasta dishes. Service is a bit slow but the servers are super nice so just relax and enjoy and don’t be rushed.
