   To preface. The bar/restaurant was quiet and they were accommodating allowing us to dine in a snug and not the main area. This may account for the reasons the staff were so slow in attending until near the end of our meal, but would still not think it is acceptable considering the staff/people ratio. Our order was taken at 7:30 and food arrived one hour later. No one flagged this and in general the attentiveness of the staff was slow, they cleared a table we moved to but had to be asked to wipe down the new table. We ordered bread, needed to ask for a knife to butter. When the mains arrived and the sharing beef was provided without plates until we asked. The lamb was excellent and beef pleasant but green beans were not warm and the steak sandwich was poor. For dessert the server took an order without paper of 2 desserts and 3 coffees and one of the coffees was forgotten. The latte was commented as overly milky on both accounts. If these are taken as over critical I apologise as not my way but think for the prices being charged there is an expectancy and for us having been lucky enough to dine in comparable places that charge more and less it just falls well below standard. We were relaxed plus nothing terrible and the staff were nice but overall just very sloppy service and a somewhat average meal with the lamb being the highlight.

   Really disappointing. It was one of the six nations rugby games, but they should not have taken my booking.

   Good morning Emma I am so sorry the Chophouse experience was not what you enjoyed on Rugby match day please come into us again on a normal trading day and I will be delighted to look after you we work hard to manage expectations and I am the the team are so sorry we did not give you a good experience bad reviews are not what we wish for or customers new and regulars are our building foundation of our village pub with food the team work really hard to maintain the high standards and once again I can only apologies kindest regards Kevin Arundel chef/owner the chophouse

   The food and service is amazing. Definitely recommend the tequila oysters along with a pint of Guinness, the fresh brown bread, any beef dish and some brown bread ice cream for desert. It’s the perfect gastro pub, where the food and atmosphere is perfect. Also a great place to watch a rugby match. Would absolutely recommend and looking forward to returning.

   The blonde waitresse/manager was so uninterested/ almost cross from the minute we walked in. No smile. Kinda wanted to know what the hell we were doing there. Also took about 30 minutes before we had a drink even though we asked for the wine menu ages before we got it. Food wasn’t bad but very surprised at the lack of choice. Too noisy for a restaurant but it was NYE so can forgive that. But the service was shocking and the two waitresses should be sent on their way. Especially probably the Daughter of that was her with the blonde hair. Shouldn’t be working there if they don’t want custom. Disappointed ..as always loved the old chop house. Found memories of the restaurant but won’t be setting foot back there again.

   This was my first time at the new venue and it was wonderful- the place was buzzing, we were greeted on arrival by the wonderful owner, the service was amazing, prompt yet not intrusive, I had spicy prawns followed by salmon - delicious! So so so glad we went! I’ll be back next time I’m in Ireland!

    The premises were attractive and well laid out. Staff were attentive and pleasant. But the food was a disappointment both in quality and the imagination of the dishes. For example a basket of bread presented with butter but no dip. Fish and chips served with a slice of lemon and some tartare sauce but no veg or salad. A little imagination could have made a big improvement. The chips were disappointing. Too many were thin and overcooked. Nothing complicated about cooking chips surely. All in all disappointing.
