The Clare Castle Port Melbourne is one of Melbourne's finest pub restaurants. Pub classics are a feature but we raise the bar with amazing char grilled steaks, incredible seafood including prawns, beautiful fresh fish, freshly shucked oysters and our signature Moreton Bay bugs available in numerous dishes. We also have vegetarian and gluten free options and many other delights.

We offer multiple dining options: FULL SERVICE in the Restaurant and on the Restaurant Terrace. BAR SERVICE (and optional QR code ordering) in the Bar and on the footpath tables. We also have a fabulous private wine room for your special occasion (please ring to enquire about this room).

    Excellent food but evening was unfortunately let down by an inexperienced service person. When we arrived we were ushered to our table which seemed in a nice position and roomy, but once we sat down it became obvious we were sitting in the direct line of an industrial strength air conditioner. We asked if there was any way to move or to turn down the cooler and we were informed that he couldn’t or wouldn’t turn it down and he advised that all the tables were the same. After we froze thru our meal and our plates were being collected a lovely waitress noticed how cold it was and asked if we would like the cooler turned down. Within 20 seconds it was off. A evening spoilt by a waiter with either a lack of knowledge or laziness

    Friends visiting from the UK we enjoyed a marvellous lunch catching up on old times. The Clare was fantastic - amazing roast beef and beautiful FOD! Great attentive staff too!

    Great food (can’t go past the lamb cutlets). Service always fantastic. Pretty good value for a quality pub restaurant meal.

    We had a wonderful dinner to celebrate a friend's 80th Birthday. Everyone enjoyed their meals very much and said they would visit the Clare Castle again - a hidden gem! A big shout out to the staff who were extremely helpful and always smiling - nothing was too much trouble. If you haven't visited Clare Castle - you should - I highly recommend the garlic prawns!

    We absolutely loved this place. We had a drink in the bar before heading to the restaurant for a meal. The food was beautiful and the staff excellent.
