WELCOME TO THE CLOG AND BILLYCOCK

The Clog and Billycock has been part of Pleasington"s history for over 150 years. A place of fond memories, laughter and life. Pleasington, is one of the most picturesque parts of a beautiful area. So, like every real Lancashire village, it needs a pub full of Lancashire tradition.

This is the third Ribble Valley Inn pub and like it's stable mates, The Clog and Billycock is steeped in all the history you might expect of a rural treasure. Originally known as the Bay Horse Inn, clogs and the billycock were the favourite attire of a landlord who took over in the early 20th century... and somehow the idea stuck.

Menus inspired by Nigel Haworth using only the freshest ingredients harvested by our local food heroes. Enjoy regional Cask Ales and an award winning wine list specially chosen by leading wine expert, Craig Bancroft. All of this in a wonderfully relaxing environment for eating out.

    Very quickly dealt with on arrival and shown to our table. Given time to have a drink and look at the menu. Given plenty of time before taking our order, meal arrived for Six people together and was hot. The party was not rushed in any way. No complaints about the food or the friendly staff. Only one personal very minor feedback, I had the Ribeye steak, but had to pay for the peppercorn sauce at £2.00 for a very small jug of sauce, I would have preferred the sauce to be part of the meal and not priced as an extra.

    We have dined here several times and it is a reliably good experience .The staff are always pleasant and efficient and the food is high end pub grub and plenty of it. The belly pork is to be recommended in particular and the build your own sundae !

    We love the Clog and Billcock for Sunday family meals. Service is very good. Staff ever so friendly and polite. I was just a touch disappointed this week with my Sunday dinner as my Yorkshire pudding was very overcooked and there was just not enough gravy! I should have asked for more gravy and I'm sure the staff would have obliged but as we usually get exceptional Food and service I didn't want to seem fussy. It was still very good and it certainly won't deter us from dining here again .

    Birthday meal with family. Very good variety of excellent food well cooked, well presented we all enjoyed our meals but no room left for puddings!

    Second visit. First was superb which was why we booked the second. Very disappointed. Service was poor. Food was poor and we had extra drinks added to our bill!!

    Our first time at this gastro pub after travelling from the wigan area with much anticipation for my birthday. The staff seemed unhappy from the get go no smile no welcome asked for name and said wait there to come back and sit us down plonked the menu down with no explanation of any offers/ how to order drinks or food . Then after about 5 mins came and asked what drinks we wanted and I had to ask about ordering food. Considering we had never been before I thought the customer service was very poor. The food was excellent and well cooked but the overall experience was a let down. Wont return to the clog but will try one of the other pubs in the chain

    Supposed to be a gastro pub, we only lasted long enough to return the starters, absolute garbage, it took an hour from sitting down to being served a starter, on a night when, by the managers own admission, it was quiet !! Never again !!!
