This was my second time dining at The Colonel’s Club. The first time I went was during lunch hours with a group of friends, and overall we had a pleasant dining experience. On this particular occasion my wife and I chose to have a date night here, and we were excited to explore the menu. We ordered the hummus, shrimp cocktail, French onion soup, beet salad and the tuna tar tar. Overall everything tasted pretty bland. The hummus had an old/musty taste to it. The shrimp cocktail was admittedly very good, but pretty pricey ($24) for 8 shrimp. The French onion soup was just fine, but nothing that stood out or anything to write home about. The tuna tar tar had an OK flavor, but once again it just felt very lacking, as well as the tuna chunks being on the larger side. Lastly the beet salad had no nuanced flavor, especially since it was atop an avocado lime puree with jalapeños, the beets just overpowered any other flavors. On the service side things were also lacking as well. It took about 5 minutes to even be addressed once we sat down, and then another 10 minutes before the server came back to say the cocktail I ordered wasn’t able to be made due to an ingredient being out of stock. My wife tried to politely send back the hummus but was just told by the server that it was his least favorite dish and the cheese was probably the old/musty flavor I mentioned before. All of the apps we ordered came out at once instead of being spaced out, which is something I’m accustomed to at many other fine dining establishments. We decided to cut our losses and skip an entree.

First and foremost, the restaurant itself has been beautifully reimagined. The specialty drinks are pricey but well constructed and tasty. The food was equally delicious. Very impressed!

This restaurant is overhyped. Parking was atrocious (as it is for all restaurants in this area). We made reservations weeks in advance but our group of 6 was seated against a wall (booth/chair situation) so conversing was difficult without practically yelling. The appetizers were ok, the entrees were not. Our server was kind and polite so that’s a plus and the manager seemed engaged and did check on tables throughout. However, the decent service just couldn’t overcome the actual taste of the food or drinks for the price-point.

Hi Emily, We regret that you didn't enjoy your experience. Please know that you can always request a seating area on Open Table and we do our best to honor those requests. Our neighbors BLDG5 has recently added a paid parking lot with many spaces and welcome our customers to part there as well. We hope you will give us another try at some point.
