This was our second time. We're enjoyed the new menu (Tibet). The service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. The pork belly (Genghis Delight) had a delectable crust and a rich flavor which pops! The Consulate is becoming one of our favorite restaurants!

Everything was epic, except I loathe when am establishment puts a mandatory tip, and then gives you a receipt with a tip line without telling/reminding you that there was already a tip on the bill. Luckily, my husband pointed it out. I consider it a shady practice. Will be back, just hoping for a different wait staff.

Melisssa, we are truly glad you enjoyed. Our team is required to mention the service fee at the time of presenting the tab. I will remind them the team tonite. Thank you for the feedback, as it helps us improve!

Ordered bottle of wine. Server came back with a substitute as they were out and it is a surprisingly short list for an upscale restaurant. Entree and starters arrived simultaneously, and before the wine. Items thought to be gluten free weren’t. Wine glasses are very thick, not for drinking fine quality wine. Water glasses felt like there was a crust on the outside. Food was good, though quite salty. Disappointing for a place that held such promise.

Great place overall. Would always love more gluten free/vegetarian options but what they do have is delicious.
    The ConsulateResponded 2 days ago
We have a record 10 vegetarian dishes on the Tibet menu. Perhaps you overlooked a few.... Our executive Chef Mei Lin is a devout vegetarian and insists on a good selection. We now even have gluten free soy sauce!! Just Let your server know the gluten requirements when ordering. We are truly glad you enjoyed and look forward to your return!

One of the best restaurants in Atlanta that we’ve been to so far. Some of our other favorites include Ticonderoga Club, Delbar, and the Optimist. The Consulate easily joined the top of our list. The menu is interesting, fun and has something for everyone. We enjoyed every bite of our appetizers, mains and dessert. The drinks match the themes of the meals and have a fun take on classics. The ambience is retro, cool and classy. Amazing spot for celebrating with friends, date night, celebration or if you want an amazing meal for $30-$50 a plate. Our server Sarah was knowledgeable, friendly and excellent at taking care of our tables needs. We will definitely be back! They do validate the parking and have directions to the deck next to the restaurant on their website.

Great experience at the Consulate. We tried a wide range of four among the four of us, and were delighted with every dish! - Okra - we placed a second order it was so good! - Both the vegetable dumplings and the pork ones were great. - The Jollof rice with shrimp was spicy and filling and delicious. - Old-Fashioned - Wow! Really good. - Octopus was really good, and the salad with it made it even better! - Mushroom dip was delicious for some of us and not others. - Duck confit was very tasty, though probably the only thing I wouldn't order again For dessert we had the saffron cake and coffee cheesecake. Again, we ordered a second cheesecake because it was so amazing! Our server took great care of us...always attentive and hepful. Loved the decor, lighting. Two of us sat on the banquette...I'm assuming that was comfortable. Unfortunately, the chairs on the other side of the table were not. Kind of low and just not comfy. Thanks for a lovely evening!
