   We had a good meal with our family. The food was not as good as usual. Normally we have an excellent meal however today the pork was a bit dry. Maybe it was just a bit too busy and we were the second sitting. Unfortunately when I got home I realised I had been charged for extra vegetables. Our original waitress offered us extra vegetables as my gluten free meal was charged at the full price but i couldn't have the cauliflower cheese or the Yorkshire pudding as they had gluten in them. Unfortunately it is a problem for people living with coeliac disease that meals are made gluten free by taking elements away but then still being charged the full price. It is quite discriminatory.

   We loved it! Beautiful setting and we sat in the huge window overlooking the church. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was lovely. They didn’t have any of the veg wellington left but offered an alternative. Disappointing but no biggy and can’t be helped, we were a late sitting.

   It would had been five but for a very noisy table of 14 men sat next to us. It was my wife’s birthday and to be honest we couldn’t hold a conversation between us and even the waitress came up to apologise without any prompting about the noise as an result our night was totally spoilt. Surely the restaurant is for cosy dining therefore the bar area would had been more appropriate. I’m not against guests enjoying themselves but not at the expense of others.

   Food and service were,once again, of the highest quality. We took friends as first timers and they were delighted with the meal. Only downside on this occasion was the noise coming from the large group on the long table which sometimes made conversation a little difficult. Not a huge issue to us but worth checking if looking for a quiet meal. That said this remains our "go to" pub/restaurant for high quality food and service.
