The atmosphere and service were both friendly and inviting, but, sadly, our main course choice of lamb was very disappointing. The meat was exceptionally chewy (more mutton than lamb) and rather spoiled the birthday treat I had organised for my partner. Never normally one to leave any food, he was defeated , after what seemed like endless chewing, and left the remainder of his meal. The waitress was sympathetic and gave us a 15% discount on our bill, but that choice of main rather spoiled what, otherwise, would have been a delightful evening.

We were seated in the bar which is where we booked. We arrived a little early but our table was ready and we were served quickly. The menu was really great, lots of choice and a change from the usual offerings which seem standard wherever we go. My husband had the hake and rosti and I had guinea foul with cannellini beans. Both were absolutely delicious! Piping hot and plenty of food! My only criticism is that the only sliced or curried option available were vegetarian dishes, I’d have loved a meat option, but that is a very small quibble!

The food was exceptionally good, well above pub grub standard, beautifully presented and an interesting menu. A good ambience with drinkers as well as diners i the bar area where we were eating. The restaurant at the back has stunning views. Toilets were clean and well appointed. The whole place felt welcoming and was very clean modern light airy and attractive. The only minor niggle was that the chairs in the bar area were very hard and cushions would have been nice. To be fair we didn't ask for one - I'm sure the lovely friendly d]staff would have provided if we had asked. Overall an excellent lunch, we sat with our friends for nearly four hours and felt relaxed and unhurried. We will return!

Delectable dishes once again. The whole experience is totally reliable - which is quite a rarity these days. Thank you to the whole team.

Great pub, good beers & wines and lovely food. The best thing about this pub is the staff. They are so efficient and friendly, they actually seem happy that you’re there and want to give you good service. We’ve been a few times and it’s always a great night out.

Great little find in “middle of nowhere”. Perfect location to meet up with family. Pub has obviously undergone a lot of renovation in recent past. Really good feel, great food and service was excellent. Wife comments on the quality of the place can be assessed on quality of its loos and these were very clean and modern. Will use it as a meeting point again.

We ate in the bar area with our dog. The service was the same as if we were in the same restaurant and the food was excellent - both quality and value for money.
