Our Farm-to-Table Restaurant offers fresh food focused on local sourcing and home-made recipees. Our beef is raised in Holgate, OH and processed locally. The cheese on our boards is made from local, whole milk in Hicksville, OH. We use 100% California olive oil in our oil based dressings - it is not cut with canola/soy/vegetable oils. Our flatbreads come in at less than 30 carbs each. We are known for our cocktails, particularly our Old Fashioneds and our Seasonal Speicialty Drinks.
Our building was constructed in 1871, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019 and completely renovated to expose it's historic lines and features in 2021. We are within Defiance's DORA District and directly across from Triangle Park in Defiance's historic downtown. Step back in time, window shop the downtown and then come and dine. We offer carryout through a button on our website www.thedarkhorsesocialclub.net

They were out of beef, except 2 steaks, no pork. No chicken as an option. We heard excuses, which came across as complaining, for the lack of menu. Chips served in their original bags. It felt like a wanna be high scale restaurant but fell short with the menu. Decor was great!

We love it that the staff remembers us and our likes and dislikes. The staff are always friendly and the owners come around to talk to the patrons and see how their meals are. The menu changes with the seasons, so there are always different items to choose from.

A NICE LITTLE GEM IN DEFIANCE, OHIO AND WORTH THE DRIVE IF YOU ARE FROM OUT OF TOWN. THE MENU IS CHANGED SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR, SO IT DOESN'T GET BORING. THE SERVERS ARE VERY NICE AND THE OWNERS COME AROUND AND TALK TO ALL THEIR DINERS.

Great place to gather. Our group was there early and could converse easily. After about an hour it got a little nosier and it was harder to chat. The food was WONDERFUL! Love going there!
