The "warmest" vibe in NW Ohio meets Farm-to-Table at The Dark Horse Social Club. This 1868, National Register structure has been completely transformed; warm and romantic, perfect for quiet dinners and heartfelt conversation while savoring fresh, thoughtfully prepared dishes in a setting that feels both intimate and special.

We offer fresh food focused on local sourcing and home-made recipees. Our beef is raised in Holgate, OH and processed locally. The cheese on our boards is made from local, whole milk in Hicksville, OH. We use 100% California olive oil in our oil based dressings - it is not cut with canola/soy/vegetable oils. Our flatbreads come in at less than 30 carbs each. We are known for our cocktails, particularly our Old Fashioneds and our Seasonal Speicialty Drinks.

    It is a given that we eat at Dark Horse Social Club at least twice a month. The owners and staff are wonderful. Saturday evening, I had the best salad I have had in a long time. Everyone is welcome: however, they do take reservations.

    Excellent service and awesome meals. Will definitely be back!! From being immediately seated our servers were all over us to answer any questions or requests that we had.

    We have two favorite places in Defiance, Ohio to eat and this is one of them. If you are from out of town, it is worth a trip to visit and eat at Dark Horse Social Club. The staff and owners are so nice. The menu is changed several times a year, so there is always something different to try.

    They were out of beef, except 2 steaks, no pork. No chicken as an option. We heard excuses, which came across as complaining, for the lack of menu. Chips served in their original bags. It felt like a wanna be high scale restaurant but fell short with the menu. Decor was great!

    We love it that the staff remembers us and our likes and dislikes. The staff are always friendly and the owners come around to talk to the patrons and see how their meals are. The menu changes with the seasons, so there are always different items to choose from.
