Well timed attentive service. Good humoured, friendly staff, a well thought out and perfectly cooked and presented menu. Made our new year's eve dinner a night to remember for all the right reasons. Lovely place located in a charming town. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience.

We enjoyed a friendly welcome to this celebrated (but unassuming from the outside) Comrie restaurant. The hostess seated us in the warm, inviting dining room with a cosy fire burning away in the hearth. I must say, I wish I had a better idea in advance about the atmosphere as I felt under-dressed in my jeans, but everyone was very courteous and no one batted an eye. After a day of walking in the woods, this was such a lovely place to relax and enjoy a rich meal we felt we'd earned! A lot of care had been taken with the menu, and my husband and I enjoyed sharing our different choices so that we could sample the many flavors and combinations prepared by the chef. Each course was lovely. If we lived in the area, I'm sure we would come back, and we'd certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a special evening.

Great food and lovely relaxing setting. Best cheese board I have ever had in a restaurant and I've had a fair few! I have and would recommend The Deils Cauldron.

I have been coming for lunch or dinner every summer ever since the 198os. It never disappoints. One Is comfortably seated; the table is well dressed with good linen; the service is welcoming, efficient and unobtrusive, and most importantly the food is excellent. It is comforting to find the high standards maintained from year to year.

We had a bad experience here many years ago, but were so glad to rediscover it under new management. Owner Katy is very welcoming and attentive, without being overly intrusive. We perused the menu over a drink in the bar area and enjoyed fantastic food in the main dining room, cooked by husband Brian. Local meat and seafood are to the fore, beautifully presented and deliciously combined. And extremely reasonably priced.

From the first friendly greeting, we knew we were in a special place. Bagsying a seat by the window, we enjoyed a drink whilst perusing the menu, an anxious experience, given that we could each have chosen any number of dishes. The dining room is intimate and welcoming and the service pitch perfect (there when you want it, with the sense that they would be happy to do anything for you). The food is wonderful - beautifully presented and gorgeous to bite into. And the bill nowhere near as large as the quality would suggest. We will be back as often as we can.
