About this restaurant

  • Neighbourhood gem
  • Great for outdoor dining
  • Good for groups
Imagine walking down the streets of New Orleans' famed French Quarter, past iron-wrought fences dripping with Mardi Gras beads and kitschy souvenir shops. You eventually stumble upon a lively joint where the stories are just as fresh as the fare. The kettle tips down and out oozes a wonder sauce cooked to perfection and served with warm rice and fresh garnish. It’s instant comfort in a bowl.

I had the lobster roll and it was good but pricy for the size. The waitstaff didn’t know the actual cost and gave a lower price than what I was rung up for. The oysters were very good and the chimichurri sauce served with them was exceptional. The ambiance was okay, more like somewhere I’d want to go for lunch than a nice dinner, though. All in all, the prices were high but the quality of the food was too. There is a lack of coordination with the kitchens that is problematic, my plate came out well before my friend’s - about 15 minutes - they need to work on this as we weren’t the only table with this problem. I figure they’re still working out some kinks but the pricing will probably keep us away except when we want just oysters…

What a pleasant surprise! We mourned the loss of our favorite local Mexican restaurant, Joaquin’s, a couple of years ago. It was empty for a while, but finally reopened as Dive, a small chain with Cajun themed seafood. Our hostess/server, “Bar,” was engaging, friendly, and helpful. She had good suggestions and in-depth knowledge of the dishes. All the shellfish, both cooked and raw, were fresh and properly prepared. The flavors top-notch. It’s a bright and airy space, quiet with only three or four tables occupied on a Tuesday night—40% off bottle of wine night. My only ding is the pricing—a bit expensive for such a casual experience. Quality seafood is not cheap, but $15 for bread pudding is a bit much unless you’re in a very fancy place. Also, a charge for a bit of bread for the table (good bread—toasted) always rankles me. Still, in the dining desert that is Yorba Linda, we’ll be back.

This is our 2nd visit to this place as my husband and I enjoyed our first visit. This time my husband and I took my mom with us. My mom ordered the Jambalaya and just mild spice, while I ordered the lobster pasta, and my husband ordered the fish and chips (with clam chowder, and yet no chips were sent to our table). When her order arrived, she tried it with a just a couple of bites and her face was flushed from the level of spiciness. We called the server and requested for another Jambalaya without any spiciness at all. They took the Jambalaya back and gave her a new order. It was tolerable at this time. When the check was handed to me, they charged us for 2 Jambalayas. That means they charged us for something that they took back. I gladly paid our bill (which was $180 something) and we just left. We live very close to this chain and it was convenient. I can honestly say that this place left a bad taste in my mouth.

First time here. It was ok. The service was very good, attentive. Food was ok. But to be fair, I will return to try something else. We had appetizers and although good it was over priced. Wine was good.

I'm so happy that I found this hidden gem in my neighborhood! I went for a Valentine's Day dinner, and the food was amazing. I loved their house special pan roast and lobster roll. I will definitely come back to try other menu items!

Great food, inexpensive, a bit more casual than expected but is not a negative. Everything was great but clam chowder could have been better.

Terrible - had a reservation- showed up on time - place empty Valentine Day early - the receptionist helper said sit here - we wanted a another empty table - the moron said we are too busy to allow that. Really - we walked out. Never coming back - terrible customer service. Good luck after we share our terrible Valentine Day reservation- at your restaurant. Never coming back ever again. Too bad restaurants have poor thinking people at the reservation desk - causing revenue to walk out and share their terrible experience with others who might ask. “how was it” well we’ll say ‘say stay away’. ‘Plenty of choices elsewhere.’

the restaurant name is deceiving. It is not a dive, and not just an oyster bar. they specialize in Cajun and Creole dishes. we had their Gumbo and fish and chips when we went, and both were excellent. Service was very friendly and attentive. A much needed addition to Yorba Linda - we'll definitely go back.
