   The pub is lovely, when we first walked in the pub no one greeted us despite two of the men looking over to us and then returning to look back at the till where the main restaurant area is. we approached the bar to explain we had a booking and the lady directed us back over to the 3 men standing by the till, we introduced ourselves and explained we had a table booked where one of the men looked up and acknowledged us finally and pointed to the table. the food was mediocre and not worth the price, the mains felt very rushed and there wasn’t a period between the starter and then main we were sat and had both the starter and the main within 30 mins which would be okay if the food was good the desserts took longer to come out the both the starter and the main together. my partner had the beef burger and was disappointed when the burger appeared it was very small in comparison to the price and seemed to have been rushed another customer complained about the size of her meal, we ordered drinks a couple of times when looking to the back of the restaurant alot of the staff were in the back and one appeared to be stood on top of the counter, the staff seemed very distracted we had ordered drinks that were forgotten and we were never offered any sauces with the meal the staff were lovely but not massively attentive despite the restaurant being virtually empty.

   We go for lunch at the Duke of Wellington roughly once a week and the whole experience is always tremendous. Friendly staff and excellent food, especially the specials menu. Thanks to all who make us feel so at home.

   We had an excellent Christmas meal at the Duke of Wellington. Service was efficient and friendly. Good value too. We think that this is a very nice pub.

   What a great place! Booked witthout previous knowledge for post National Trust visit and it was just what we wanted. Great menu, good choice of drinks and welcoming staff. Nice log fires . Just overall good value.

   Lovely meal. Only one complaint was my dads pastry was very hard, but otherwise really good. The bill was reduced for the hard pastry! We will definitely go back soon!!!
