    Food was ok, menu doesn’t change much. Wine very expensive SB £15 a large glass. It was busy nice to see but the low ceilings and a noisy birthday meal near us made conversation difficult. Nice pub though and in the summer the garden is lovely.

    We’ve been here on lots of occasions over many years, I even proposed to my wife in this pub, a lifetime ago. The quality of the food and service this time around was very good indeed, think it may have changed hands several times since our first visit all those years ago. Anyway it’s not just for the nostalgia that we come here, a decent pub lunch, well cooked and some friendly, genuine service are good enough reasons to keep returning.
