Trying to be something they most definitely are not.
Menu (on paper) looks good but in reality food is bland, under/over seasoned and some ingredients just dont work well together.
Some interesting ideas but execution not great, although plates dressed nicely.
The service was what really shocked me - way way too much talking about the food, listening to him stumble through the menu to other tables even though it was his 5th time repeating the set menu. - bringing food to the table when my girlfriend was in the bathroom then asking me if he should wait to describe the food.
No pacing of the meal, we were brought 5 courses one after the other in under an hour, sometimes he hadn’t cleared the last dish before bringing the new one, when my gf asked for a fresh mint tea a teapot arrived with hot water and 4 (yes 4) fresh mint leaves in which cost £3.25 and when I asked for an extra cup the given to me was dirty. When you’re paying £85 per person I would expect a MUCH better quality across everything (food and service) Building however is beautiful but it deserves a much better standard of food and service.
The worst dining experience I’ve had in quite some time.
