   Even though we were a little late we were met with a warm welcome. This set the tone for friendly, impeccable service that was second to none and an exquisite afternoon tea that I consider to be the best I’ve had to date. The lemon and blueberry macarons were a delectable combination and the miniature Bath bun melted in the mouth. Highly recommended.

   An excellent restaurant for special occasions. Staff very helpful and polite. Food superb with a very nice gesture of a small birthday cake with candle.

   Incredible. We’re already thinking about when we can come next! The most beautiful tasting menu, every detail had been thought about, from the ingredients across both the meat and fish courses to the wine pairings and personal service. We were served by the manager all evening who was exceptional, and made us feel like we were the only people there despite there being multiple dinner guests. We can’t wait to book again soon.    The food was very delicious, well balanced and pretty presented on the plate. But Service needs serious improvement. Waiters need to be much more motivated, bubbly and give customers plenty information about food they serve! Perhaps watching food preparation on the kitchen and try food will give them idea what the chef is trying to achieve. They should have a sommelier to give a professional recommendations on available wines in the restaurant.

   The Elder promotes as fine dining but to reach the small cramped bare table restaurant with poor / very poor decor - you first walk through the more spacious, white table clothed, adequately sized tables of the brasserie. Upon telephone confirmation we were assured there would not be delays between serving the fixed menu courses..... but after 3 reminders, followed by another 8 mins wait for one course to arrive .... it was evident that promise was not being kept. The hotel may want to have a fine dining offer - but they have not invested / organised to deliver on this. The food was excellent. But the whole experience disappointing.

    fantastic food and a lovely room. No one hurried us but the service was attentive and welcoming. Nick, our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about the dishes we were given and the wine pairings and to be honest made the whole meal a real experience. ive read reviews before where people talk about how the waiter made the meal more enjoyable and ive always thought it was a bit weird but he honestly he really did make us feel so welcomed and happy to be there. Really delicious food, perfect wine pairings and fantastic service. Id thoroughly recommend
