The Elgin is a bar & restaurant serving upscale fare situated just south of Rockefeller Center & steps from Broadway & Times Square. Our goal is to provide sophisticated cocktails, a carefully curated craft & seasonal beer list, amazing food in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Please join us!
The Elgin’s 4 main principals, Peter Pernicone, Darwin Conner, Paul Baum & Christine Trauben, have known each other for 30 years. They all grew up on the lower west side of NYC in Chelsea & had a goal of owning a bar together & could not be more excited about opening The Elgin. As an acknowledgment of their collective history, they named a signature cocktail—the Chelsea 1724—after their neighborhood. Darwin & Paul grew up in Chelsea on 17th St and Peter & Christine lived on 24th St. They are joined by Patrick Callaghan who has been working with Peter for many years.

    Happening after work place for young up and comers. Decent food, excellent service but loud,wow! Selection of booze is second to none

    We stopped there before a Broadway play and had plenty of time to make it to the show. Service was great. Food was amazing.

    Good selection, reasonable prices for the quantity and quality of food. We went there for lunch prior to going to the theater. Service was very friendly and attentive.

    Had made reservations and reached out to staff to reserve a corner booth for an anniversary dinner. Confirmed they were able to accommodate the day prior. The server was quite polite, however clueless he was, I could go on but all in all it was a fair meal for being frozen pizza and nearly no tuna on the tuna poke nachos. But hey maybe they had an off night. Won’t be returning.

    Employees were all very friendly. The food was just ok and the service was pretty slow. I'd maybe go back for a drink at the bar.

    What a wild place! The restaurant was mobbed at 5:00PM on a Thursday. the noise was dangerously high. Service was good, food passible and quite expensive for basic pub food. Proximity to the theatre district is the only reason to visit this place in my opinion.

    we had a really good dinner. our server was attentive and despite being busy, when the upper mezzanine tables started filling up- she kept coming by to check on us. food was good. overall, we would come back to have dinner here again & I recommend this place, especially if you're watching a show at radio city (which we did).
