The music played was too loud and way to “heavy” for background. It made it very hard to hear conversation. Otherwise, the food was great.

The food and drink were fine, but only after getting my bill was I told that the "Bottled Wine at Half Price on Wednesdays" touted on their website is no longer supported, and hasn't been for almost two years. You would think they could correct their website in that time, rather than continue with such false advertising.

Don, Thanks for catching this. That old promo page slipped through the cracks, and we’re getting it taken down now. Next time you’re in, any bottle is on us at half price, we’d love the chance to make it up to you.

The Emporium was mostly great! The food was very tasty. I had the burger. It was filling and well seasoned. The fries were average and not very hot. My husband said his reuben sandwich was one of the best he's ever had! We sat on the patio and it was lovely and quiet. Our main server was... ummm... not listening. I guess that's they best way to put it. She couldn't remember simple things like, was it an iced latte or hot? There was a second server who was very attentive with refills on water and making sure we had all the salt, pepper, dressing, etc. that we needed. Overall it was a very good experience. It just showed that it's still hard to find good help.

Cheryl, Thank you for the thoughtful review. We're glad you enjoyed the food, especially the Reuben, and that the patio made for a quiet, relaxing spot. I’m sorry to hear the service was uneven. That kind of disconnect isn’t what we aim for, and we’re addressing it with the team. We appreciate the kind words and the honesty, and we hope to welcome you back soon.

We celebrated our 52nd anniversary here. It was a great experience overall. Krista was our server and she was excellent. We'll definitely be back.

Food was good, interior is setup like a bistro. The problem was the service. We had to wait too long for each step of service with the restraint not being close to full. It was during June so maybe they had a server shortage once all the CSU kids left.
The Emporium: An American BrasserieResponded on 14 June 2025
Hi Matthew, Thank you for the kind words on the food, we’re glad to hear that hit the mark. I’m truly sorry the service fell short. Whether we're packed or quiet, every guest deserves to feel taken care of without delay. We’re addressing the pacing issues you experienced, and I appreciate you giving us the chance to see where we missed. I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back and show you a smoother experience.

This is the second time I have been here and it has been wonderful both times. The muscles are to die for and the prime rib was thick juicy and wonderful. My daughter-in-law also loved the chicken and said it had a wonderful taste. We will absolutely be back

Debby, We're so glad to have welcomed you back and even happier to hear the meal was a hit all around. Thank you for the kind words — we’ll make sure the mussels and prime rib are just as good next time. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

I like the location and decor, and the service was very good. But I think the kitchen isn’t aiming for high standards. My Beef Wellington was touted as the special of the day, and claimed to be medium rare, but it was cooked closer to medium well, and the meat seemed more like chipped beef than the beef tenderloin I expected. The asparagus that accompanied it was stringy and very thin. Something a home chef would even avoid buying. I feel that the written menu made promises that the kitchen couldn’t deliver on. Additionally, it was very loud, so much so that we wrapped up early because my wife had a headache from the noise.
The Emporium: An American BrasserieResponded on 14 June 2025
Bill, Thank you for taking the time to share this. While I’m glad the service and space made a good impression, it’s clear the kitchen missed the mark for you — and that’s not something we take lightly. When a dish is featured as a special, it should feel exactly that. We’re reviewing your feedback with our culinary team to make sure what we promise on the menu is matched by what lands on the plate. I’m also sorry the volume in the room affected your evening. We’re working on ways to better manage that during peak hours. I appreciate your honesty and the chance to improve.

The service was outstanding but the food was not. Steak was supposed to be medium but came out well done. 2 dishes came to the table cold and the grits in the shrimp and grits were to hard a consistency.
The Emporium: An American BrasserieResponded on 14 June 2025
Jennifer, Thank you for the kind words about the service — we’re proud of the team for taking good care of you. I’m sorry the food didn’t meet the same standard. A missed temperature and cold plates aren’t acceptable, and we’re addressing both with the kitchen. Your feedback is valuable, and we appreciate the chance to do better.
